On this board, Abraham is widely considered to be the #2 or #3 middleweight behind Winky and Taylor although he arguably lost the fight against Miranda? Okay......
I would have stopped the fight after round 5 but it continued. In the end I had it 6-6 in rounds with 7-5 in favour of Miranda would be also no problem for me. The deduction of 3 points would have been fair - in my eyes AA still won the fight after 12 rounds but could have lost it after 5 if not for the referee...
The only one who argue that Abraham lost against Miranda are Miranda nut hugger or the people who believe the lies of Warriors Boxing after the fight.
He's ranked higher because he has more quality wins. If/once Pavlik beats Taylor and if/once Abraham beats Demers, Pavlik will be ranked higher most likely.
Honestly though, do you really think Abraham could beat Pavlik? Pavlik has a better workrate, he's bigger, (taller rangier), arguably has more power, and honestly looks to be the smarter fighter. Abraham covers up with a highguard, something a smart fighter like Pavlik would take advantage of, often throws wide punches, and doesn't have a workrate like Pavlik. On top of all this, Pavlik knocked out the guy that broke Abraham's jaw and and lost a controversial decision, and he's fighting Taylor for peanuts. That sounds like a hungry, determined fighter. Will Abraham even fight anybody outside Europe?
Abraham would hang tough, but no, I don't think he would beat Pavlik. I see him getting stopped in the mid-late rounds.
I don't see AA being stopped, even by Pavlik but he will be outworked over 12 rounds to lose a decision - most likely 8-4 rounds...
