This is stupid, you don't need a bad chin to get KO'd by the two biggest hitting Middleweights in the world.

Granted, not when looked upon isolated, but in conjuncture with the other KDs it adds up. And Green "ran" most of the fight.

So basically going down against almost all his quality opponents doesn't bode well for his chin - does it?

It isn't that Miranda can't take punches. He just poses after his work. I think Abraham didn't notice this in the first fight until he saw the tape. That was clearly a point of strategy in the rematch.

If you watch real early on Abraham was trying for that right hand counter. And when he started to follow it up with the left hook Miranda just became hittable because he was just standing there too long (posing).

Really Miranda seems to do this in most of his fights. It's a really bad habit and it bit him tonight.

Abraham fought an excellent fight. I said this in an another post. Although I thought he lost the first three rounds, it's pretty clear he was biding his time, waiting to get his shot in. And he did, good for him. I personally would now favor him over Pavlik, as I've said.

But Miranda also showed something in this fight, too, and that's that, like many big punchers he doesn't take the greatest shot. I suspect after he gets KOd a few more times, even the dissenters will recognize this.

    :good .

You can count Puerto Rico in that category as well.

I always look at things individually. Green did run, and that's how he caught Miranda who was being aggressive.

When looking at chin, I consider whether or not a fighter was hurt in the obvious sense. Miranda was certainly hurt by Pavlik and obviously Abraham. But remember, he has fought Abraham before, and didn't go down.

    Obviously we have different criteria.

Relax. No one's saying Miranda's chin is grade A china - just not that sturdy. Like many punchers - he can dish it out, but isn't so good at taking it.

Believe me, this will become even clearer as he moves forward in his career. I've seen it happen time and again over 30 years of following the sport, and have gotten pretty good at predicting it.

I told you limited Miranda would get KTFO though.:D

Same thing is going to happen when trash Margarito gets eaten alive and systematically dominated by Cotto, stopped and brutalised. You ought to listen to Amsterdam Zak, you can rate a chin second to none, I rate ability.:good

Yes, Miranda was hurt by Pavlik, and it wasn't a one punch(as I remember it) that felled him, but a series of punches that led up to the KO. Against AA, it was almost Abrahams first action outside his defensive shell, and not even being(again to me) a devastating punch, he was down. Then back up again, not dazzed at all, but going down to next punch and then soon after to the 3rd.

He fought a AA with a broken jaw. How many tries to sit on his punches with a broken jaw? Not AA at least.

Well, Abraham had 5 rounds or so to do it the last time. He is obviously capable lol.

I just saw the clip. Those first 2 KD's look to be from hard shots to me, especially the second KD. But the last one was a glancing blow. Getting caught coming in with a straight right? Seems like a hard shot to me.

    No chance.:good

Marg has no advantage mid range, inside or out due to the speed and skill disadvantage, Cotto's precision work on his lack of defence is far too much for him to amount his own workrate against at that.

Furthermore, Cotto smothering him inside makes him really ineffective and that should be easy for Cotto considering he's a technical pressure fighter as his base style and has a sledgehammer of a jab to move his way in on.
