Not gonna give you your best shot killing your body like that. He did something similar before Pavlik, but it was more due to losing an INSANE amount of weight days before weigh in. Im not saying he would have won either fight at 100%. But it is stupid for him to put himself in a position where he is not at his best. For Sat night's fight I see a 'perfect' in shape Miranda. If he loses this, there is NOTHING that can be said other than Andre Ward is a very good and deserving fighter.
How much weight did he put in between Green and Pavlik? The fights were like less than 2 months away. I know he was 176 on fight night with Green. How much did he go in that time?
He can have the most ripped and healthy looking body all he wants but that still isnt going to boost up his boxing basic skills which he truly lacks.
He took the Pavlik fight with 6 weeks notice. HBO was getting frustrated with Dibella not being able to put together a good undercard on an already weak main event (Taylor vs Spinks). They needed to spice up the show so they got two other promoters (Arum and Warriors) to step in and give us Miranda vs Pavlik. I dont know exactly where Edison was when he took the fight, but I would guess 200-210. Again, he spent most of camp losing weight. For this fight he killed himself (not eating, working hard) days before the fight. He had to resort to actually spitting and drying himself out for 24 hours before weighing in. He should have never stepped in the ring. But in his mind he thought Pavlik was gonna be a walk in the park and wanted to get it over with. BIG BIG mistake. Pavlik proved to be quite the opposite! He has said that losing to Pavlik and Abraham were the best things that could have happened to him. He has learned and is a better fighter do to it. Come Saturday night we will see if these 'excuses' held him back and he is actually is a better boxer and learned from them.
Ward said something about this being an elimination bout or a fight for a manditory title challenge. Is this right or is he just hoping it will be? And which belt was he talking about the WBC or the WBO?
It is not an official elimination bout for any sanction. But it is silently 'understood' that the winner will move to #1 in the WBC and be the mandatory for Froch.
I don't think anyones ever seen Miranda not look healthy....he has a good chance of beating Ward cuz Wards been dropped by significantly weaker punchers in the past, it just comes down to whether Miranda has developed the boxing skills to compete at the top of the game...we shall see.
Awsome...Miranda Froch would be insane...I'd probably have to go with Mioranda in that fight can I think he's faster and much more powerful then Froch. But That would probably be one of the fights, if not the fight that I most want to see at 168.
Yes that would be a great fight. I am hoping Miranda does what he needs to do Saturday and that fight will come off next. It would be a war and a very fan friendly fight.
I always hear about Miranda's ballooning weight prob's.. for ****'s & giggles anyone have any pic's of a bloated Miranda? back to topic, I hope you are right Pantera.. I'm defo looking foward to this one. (Like both fighter's)
