This explains a lot. :boxing2 http://compuboxonline.com/stat_files/BUT-MIR.htm Total Power Punches landed: Bute: 23/37 (62%) Miranda: This content is protected Totals punches for each rounds: 1st round Bute: 18/36 (50%) Miranda: 8/46 (17%) 2nd round Bute: 17/43 (40%) Miranda: 7/70 (10%) 3rd round Bute: 12/24 (50%) Miranda: 6/28 (21%)
Bute is just in a different league of fighter, top notch world class fighter that is bute, an elite 168 fighter not just some belt holder, it will be one hell of a fighter to beat him.
Not to detract from Bute or your thread, but the fight didn't even go 3 rounds so I don't think quoting statistics is a very reliable way or making a point in this case.
You may be right. On the other hand, Bute usually starts slowr than that. I can compare with what he usually does in those first rounds. Anyway, Miranda is not an elite fighter but I wonder what the stats were against Ward. If I remember correctly, it looked the same way in terms of domination, except the KO.
Well, I don't have time to watch the whole fight this morning but Miranda rocked Ward a couple of times, and Ward is not connecting at 50%. I'll try to watch both Bute-Miranda and Ward-Miranda but at first sight, Bute dominated more. Of course, it was one year ago and Ward is not the same fighter, he's improved and will improve a lot in the next years.
At least Miranda showed off and performed a circus show before he was sparked out. The guy was never a boxer and they tried to turn him into one.
No No No. This is not the same Miranda that we saw years ago. That Miranda was unstoppable. To me it looked like he didn't want to be out there. I think Miranda is shot. Of course, this is sarcasm(although, he actually might be shot after all these KO's). Miranda looked very, very slow throwing his punches(pretty much the norm) and telegraphed them. He's still good enough to put the lights out on C level fighters early.
Both took some pretty good shots from Miranda, in fact. Anyway, I was talking about Bute in this post because some posters always come with the he has a weak defense thing.
Why do people say this? He looked hesitant against Allan Green. He looked hesitant against David Banks until the one punch KO. He looked hesitant against Gibbs until he had Gibbs hurt. He's NEVER been aggressive until he has an opponent hurt. This is the same Miranda that he's always been, maybe even a little better because he's learned to box. The difference is that the blueprint to beating him as been laid out at this point, and it's pretty easy to follow.
