WAR MIRANDA!! Miranda Scores Spectacular 1st Round KO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDcA4yyD6RA&feature=player_embedded#at=214 Former world title challenger and current top rated super-middleweight contender, Edison "Pantera" Miranda (33-4, 29 KO's), scored a spectacular 1st round KO over Mexican National Champion, Francisco "Panchito" Sierra (20-3, 19 KO's). Early in the round both fighters were feeling each other out. Sierra came out jabbing while Miranda landed some left hooks to the head. The action started to get heavy as the round continued and both fighters were landing solid punches. Miranda started to work his way inside and used his strength to back up Sierra. Sierra was holding his ground but headed to the ropes. That's when Miranda landed an overhand right, that landed flush on Sierra's temple. The fight was stopped immediately at 2:16 of round one and Miranda became the new NABO super-middleweight champion.
miranda kinda reminds me of gerrie coteze in a way .. very limited yet extreamly dangerous with the vaunted right hand
I was thinking a less talented Zab Judah. Looks great against nobodies, then loses to everybody who matters.
Miranda doesn't have Super Judah speed, but he does have pretty fast hands. That clip doesn't give us that much to go on, but in my opinion it's the same old Miranda. He's like Chuvalo, Sutherland, McKart, and a few others in the respect that he will always beat the crap out of top 15-20 fighters, but lose to the top 5.
Thought the same thing. Backed straight up on jabs, same defence... maybe the left hook looked a little sharper. Goosen sure hasn't messed up that right hand though. It didn't even land all that flush and he had dude going.
Just proves that he's good enough to beat down journeymen ... straight up gate keeper to whatever division he's in. I'm sure that he can catch someone with some bull**** and possibly catch a good fighter sleeping ... but as far as a well skilled, discipline fight - its out of the question. the KO doesn't prove **** !!
Nice KO. Very one dimensional as usual. He could have been something better with the raw power (if only he threw with better technique) and long arms. Just too primitive though.
Impressive KO against a guy that had won his last 10 fights by early KOs. Super Middle Weight champ of Mexio. Only stopped once in the 10th round. Not trying to make him more then he is, but he is far from just some tomato can. Good first fight with Goossen and Pantera did what he was supposed to do. Now I hope he is really tested against a top 10 opponent before I pull out the band wagon for the 5th time! I wish him luck.
I want to see what happens when he fights someone who can give him a fight. His problems are mostly mental/emotional. He gave away the first fight with Abraham because he got frustrated, and pretty much fell apart when Pavlik wouldn't back up.
