I'd love to see Taylor fall out and Miranda fall into this fight. It would be a pure chin check contest.
The difference is Froch doesn't have much of a shelf life. So, he needs to get the paydays under his belt whilst someone still remembers his name. Otherwise...Magee and Dodson will be calling him out...
:good I'd really much rather see this fight first. I think Taylor takes Froch and this fight will never happen. When it looked like Taylor was going to fight Green instead, I encouraged Miranda's people to try and jump in. Needless to say, they were ahead of me on that one.:yep They figured if Froch didn't happen, all of the action at SMW is in Europe at the moment anyhow.
The winner of Magee v. Dodson has a right to call Froch out again, if Froch loses to Taylor, because "that's the big domestic showdown that the fans are demanding!":bart
Can you imagine the trash-talk between these two? Miranda calling Froch a ***** for ducking him...and Froch having to either take him on or...change his mind about being willing to face anyone, anywhere and being ducked all the time... Froch's being outfoxed by Miranda here...and getting his caught in his own trap.:yep
He'll have to fight someone better then, won't he...and someone younger...or they'll bring up the "you're fighting old men" speech that Froch used against Calzaghe.
Yeah but Froch fighting a couple of guys a similar age (to him) isn't a problem..... In Frank Warren's words..... Jones couldn't even be arrested prior to the Calzaghe fight
I read that too...Warren's pulling no punches. He really is the best in the business, in the UK, perhaps even in Europe.
I'm not a Warren fan, at all. But he was right in this instance. I think a lot of fighters leave him because they stagnate really bad. Calzaghe beat Eubank in 1997, then did what exactly for the next 8 1/2 years...... other than Reid and Woodhall? Hatton was the same. Really good wins against Phillips and Tackie (add Eamon Magee as well) then....... nothing until Tszyu.
