1.1 Ford fiesta? Does such a thing really exist? I just did a craigslist search and couldn't find one. That **** probably gets a million miles per gallon. I want one!

Agreed, but Abraham has shown in previous bouts he has real problems with his Stamina. That's why he takes that many breaks. I doubt he will fix this for his next fight. But we never know.

As I've said before, I think this is like the tiger changing its stripes. This style of inactivity has worked for him for a long time in Germany. His style is now built around it. If Miranda lands a few solid shots, even if he plans otherwise, he will be right back to it. Hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see a more exciting fight that is decided in the ring.

Maybe I am being too optimistic about Abraham's stamina. But it's not like he needs to fight like Calzaghe and fire off 15 million punches a second. Just 10-15 more punches a round would make a big difference, for a power puncher with his style

Stamina is a 'plumbing' thing. At least according to some physician that examined Lance Armstrong. You can improve it to a degree.

    HAHAHAHA.

Yes and no. Have you seen the muscles on this beast? I mean, he trains so much in strength, that the muscles must be taking all the oxygen from his body. If he could reduce it a little... he would have better stamina right there.

By 'plumbing' the physcian was talking cardiovascular. It has seems to be just recently that people have been saying that 'muscle' puts more stress on endurance. Anybody have a reference on that?

Well you don't do all those hours of roadwork just to lose weight, you would hope to gain stamina too

I think it can definitely be improved. I heard he struggles to make 160, he's a thick framed guy so it wouldn't suprise me at all. That would affect it for one...

I also wonder if he could think about varying the power in his shots, so he reserves stamina to fight more actively. He seems to throw a hayemaker with 100% power every shot, which is unusual. The elite fighters know when to step on the gas, they don't need to be going hell for leather all the time like that.

Miranda never gave weight excuses for this fight. But let's not forget the bull**** Sauerland pulled by canceling the orginal fight with a few days notice. They sent Miranda back from Germany without a new date. Then they gave him less than 3 weeks notice to get back to weight and fight. Not being a professional Scar you have no comprehension what this can do to your strength and stamina. He can't stay close to 160 for long so he had to put weight back on and lose it slowly again. This is why top professionals only fight 2 to 3 times a year. The weight loss is very hard on their bodies and most fighters will tell you it is the hardest part of being a professional boxer.

One thing that COULD be done about this though is, if they all fought at their natural weight instead of trying to make a lower weight class, like in the old days.

But hey, who am I to try to change boxing :) My name's not Don King.:rasta

That could do it yes. But you'd still have the morons who would try it and die in the ring.

Indeed, but it would be so interesting if it happened. It would really shake the boxing world up. It would be much fairer all-round. I always feel bitter when I see guys that are just freaks for draining weight like Paul Williams. I mean his main attribute as a boxer is draining weight, its pretty sad. He'd be a complete nobody in his natural division
