Actually, Steve Holdsworth and Bob Mee are my favourite commentating duo on the air at the moment. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but Holdsworth is a man who doesn't hold back with his opinions and if something's crap he'll say so. You also won't find anyone more knowledgable on the commentary than Bob Mee. I find his insights and depth of knowledge fascinating. They both really do know about the boxers they're talking about, their previous fights and performances, etc, no matter how little known some of the boxers are! They're also true boxing geeks. They're knowledgable and passionate and not just reading from some handout given to them by the production team. They have the freedom to discuss issues relevant to certain fights as they see fit (not like on some channels where they are expected to toe the line within reason) and I find it refreshing. Also, both of them are extremely pleasant gentlemen who are always happy to chat and discuss boxing with anyone. So, even if I may be in the minority, a big up to the Eurosport commentary team! :good:happy
Always sensible to stand next to a fighter from one of the heavier weights :bbb Fair play for Pantera who seemed really excited by his win which must have been odd fighting here
I wasn't a big fan of Mee and Holdsworth before, but only because I think sometimes theyre not exciting enough even when theyve got a big fight on, but you cant knock theyre knowledge, theyre boxing nuts. I reckon the commentary may work better with 1 of them and say 1 TV type person (not a boxing person but a sports commentator).
Nice pic! I talked with Pantera after the fight. He was very impressed with the electric crowd in such a small venue. You English fans know how to have a good time. I like how the crowd hangs out in the bar area drinking away the beers waiting for the fights to start! Makes for a fun time. No, I dont think there was another Colombian in York hall that night! As a matter of fact I dont remember seeing any other Latinos in London other than the crew that Pantera came with.
Cheers fella - Miranda can talk English but for some reason I decided not to say 'well done champ' rather to try and think of anything to say in Spanish without success and ended up grinning like a twat. I bored my mate who I went with the whole night with that prediction so when the ref jumped into stop it he really got fed up with my expertise.
