Miranda vs Kessler - Dont count Montreal out!

Doesn't matter who the fans are rooting for.. Kessler will finish Miranda. Miranda can drop bombs, but with Kessler's jab in his face all day it won't be easy. And boy, when he decides to fire his right - Miranda is in for a lot of trouble.

 

I also heard that Puerto Rico also in his posibilities to put that card.

 

Pardon me, but Kesslers defense is fine he might back straight up alot, but does so mostly when looking for an opertunity to counter. His ring generalship is way beyond average and he is very capable of controlling the pace of a fight.

Of course when you're comparing him to the likes of Pernell Whitaker and Floyd he might not look all that impressive, but if you compare him to Miranda then he's a masterclass technician.

 

Did you see the Andrade fight? :huh Say what you want about Andrade, but he's a tough fight for anyone in the division. Kessler being able to control him the way he did for an entire 12 rounds says something. In that fight, he showed great defense, ability to control the pace of the fight, and ring generalship. Kessler may not be flashy, but to say he isn't skilled is silly.

 

Andrade has a lot of heart and a great chin, but he's unbelievably easy to hit, he telegraphs his punches, and is plain bad.

Against Calzaghe, which should be a better test of his "skills" he lacked balance, lacked defense and made A LOT of mistakes.

Who cares if he dominated Andrade, Andrade is a plumber.

 

You know I can follow this guys argument as long as he keeps his comparison between Kessler and certified legends as Whitaker, but when he doesn't take the skill disparity between Kessler and Miranda into consideration I feel like he is missing something :huh

 

Right, I prefer his style to Miranda's, but I still think he will loose to Miranda, precisely because of his shortcomings.

 

You think that Miranda and Kessler are on a similar level in footwork/speed, punching technique, hand speed and ring generalship?

 

I never said Kessler was not more skilled than Miranda. But he's not skilled enough for me to be biased in his favor.

I will cheer for Floyd, Nard, JMM in every single one of their fights because I just love watching them display their skills.

In Miranda vs. Kessler, there ain't much for me to get excited about, that's all I was saying.

 

Pantera2000, I wouldn't worry about the support for Miranda in Montreal; obviously I don't know what people think - I'm not from there, but given that Kessler retired Eric Lucas, who is very popular, when Lucas was trying to make a comeback, won'y make Kessler that popular with any Lucas fans. I'm sure many will at least hope that Miranda tests his beard. Also, they will know that Miranda is the underdog, and that his style requires him to be confident, to be effective - so they will cheer him every time he scores a big hit...as to racism...I think you're paranoid; don't think it will be a factor there more than anywhere else, black on white or white on black...Montreal would be a good place for Miranda and for Kessler - fans will mostly want to see a good fight, rather than take sides, anyway...:good

 

But logically you would have to favor Kessler because he is immensely more skilled than Miranda. I mean the skill disparity between Kessler and Miranda is so huge that the only way Miranda wins this is through a lucky punch. Kessler will be able to control Miranda with his jab at least thats what I think.

You might not get excited about this fight and thats fair, but if you think Miranda is a favorite to win this then I suggest you put some money down on him to win.

 

Kessler is one of the most skilled 'boxer-puncher' style fighters in the world, what the **** are you talking about.

 

Yes... I like no.3, "respectful" fighters of color. It's ok for a Calzaghe to trash talk but when a black guy gets going it is not.

Really like to discuss this match.... but some of the things about kessler and his lack of technique, skills, defence and alot more is too me, way off...
just because he had a very bad night, was injured in his right hand and (didnt do any sparring for 3 weeks up to the fight) lost to a world class fighter dosent mean that he deserves to be put back years.... wait and see sebastian... if you are serious about your words on kessler you will be in for treat... kessler is much more than you saw 3 november last year!!!!
