Interesting fight... neither fighter would beat the division's elite, but Miranda has the power and Stieglitz the skills to make it a tough choice and a possibly exciting clash of styles. No shame in losing to the seriously underrated Andrade who would blow away Miranda in 6. Librado is a LHW sized, extremely strong pressure fighter, look what he did to Tsypko. No shame in the Berrio loss either, he stopped him previously but ran into a big punch, which he obviously can't allow to happen vs. Pantera. He got hit by fast southpaw Balzsay, but came back strong in the last rounds and showed mental toughness, I think he might've matured in the past fights. If he boxes and counters beautifully, avoiding trade and Miranda's illegal rabbit punches, he can win a decision, but I expect Pantera to be the betting favorite, as he should be.
Stieglitz is a hell of a tough fighter. He had a good scrap with Andrade before getting KO'd. He won the belt by coming from behind after taking a beating. Miranda can hit but Stieglitz is tough. The loss I saw he did not get beat by one punch but an accumulation. Miranda is very agressive and tough but he has failed everytime at the top level. Reminds me of David Tua a fast exciting guy who is easy to like but just never got a belt. Miranda may prove me wrong and I am a fan of his but it is hard for me to think he can really get a title after the Ward loss
Unless Miranda can be aggressive, I see Stieglitz winning this fight. Stieglitz doesn't handle pressure that great, and Andrade laid a proper asswhooping on him. But the idea that Miranda is an aggressive fighter has always been a myth. He's an aggressive finisher when he has someone hurt, but until then, he's always had a pretty low workrate and mostly tried looking for that one big shot. I doubt this approach works that well against Stieglitz, who's been worn down many times before but who has never been hurt by a single punch without lots of accumulation.
He was actually dropped by a single right hand in the Berrio rematch and never recovered. But he was a bit overexcited in there and got caught, he was much more alert vs. Andrade, but ultimately got chopped down. I agree, Miranda shouldn't look for the once punch KO and put on pressure rather than throw bombs and tire himself out.
I hope this fight happens. It would take a decent offer for Miranda to travel over to 'hostel' territory again. It seems like a great career move if he cant get into the Super Six with the best opportunity to win a SMW belt. A few title defenses and he would be looking at a large pay day against Bute in what could be a great fight. A man can dream!
i dont know this other guy but it sounds from the other posters that this is a good matchup for both of them, and im excited about it lol. Miranda needs someone tough enough to give him rounds, but not so good they are going to whoop his ass, so that he can improve a bit under his new trainer. Hope this fight pulls through, and that ill be able to find a online stream when it does cuz i know it wont be shown on us tv damnit.
Stieglitz won't whoop Edison's arse but I feel confident when I say he beats him. Miranda has a shot though.
It is just a possibility that has been talked about. Sounds like a win win for both sides to try to make it happen.
Stiegletz is a durable fighter with good fundamentals, good fight for both fighters. I was wondering if Andrade and Berrio knocked him out, Miranda hits AS hard as either fighter with news he is working on being a boxer rather then a slugger. I am going with a Miranda KO.
Would be a good fight that would make sense.Hope it happens.:good I see it as 50-50. I'd favor the Russian if he can force Miranda to fight backwards but I can see Mirnada using his jab a bit if he broke up his long term relation with his power.
Berrio landed a moneypunch when Sieglitz got a bit careless and against Andrade he couldn't take the pressure Andrade brought to the table.
The jury is still out as to if Goossen can make the changes to make this guy champion material. If this fight comes about, Joe will have 2 full months to work on a gameplan. I hear Jan 9th is the date they have set. This would be a great test to see if he has what it takes.
Curious, who is the better opposition that Stieglitz has beaten? Miranda has beaten Eastman and Green. I looked through his record and do not recognize anyone that I would consider better than these two.
That is where the ref steps in. Pantera knows about that. Well, so does Martinez after fighting Cintron..
