After watching what Abraham did to Taylor and what Ward did to Kessler does that do anything about Miranda. Miranda is one of my favorite avtive fighters right now. He is never in a dull fight, he is very agressive, he gets the KO or is KO'd trying. I thought he was done after his Ward and Abraham losses. in the light of seeing their success maybe he is not done after all just ran into the wrong guys. That said though who could he beat for a belt? At 168 he cant beat Ward, maybe Stieglitz but he is very durable and tough and could prove difficult, Froch hits hard and is very agressive but his defense is awful and he was wrocked by Dirrel, and Bute would smoke him. At 175 I do not know if I give him too much chance. Campillo just beat that supposed next great star in Shuminov. Brahmer is tough but he has 2 losses to Garay and Veit who Calzagh stopped in one so Miranda has a shot. Cloud is still a bit green so he may have a shot but Cloud is very agressive and very strong and is no easy night. Pascal is I think the best young guy in the division I think he is better then Dawson. It is close but I see Pascal as more complete. I still think though that the two old guys B-hop and RJJ rule the division til beatin by one of the young guys.

Well, last night sure takes some sting off of the Ward loss.

168 is loaded right now and I'm sure Miranda will get a crack at someone. I could see HBO picking up something like Andrade - Miranda in a heartbeat, although that is an awful style matchup for Edison.

On paper, Miranda's only lost to Pavlik, AA and Ward, which isn't so bad for a B-level fighter. But I certainly think his career's been on the slide since he moved up in weight; he looks sluggish and unmotivated at times. (The Vegas fight was god-awful.) Once Pavlik took his hard-man aura and smashed it up he's never been the same.

As long as he's content to fight below the top level for mediocre pay-days, he should do fairly well out of fighting.

I'm a fan but after anylyzing the 2 divisions he's been fighting in I dont see him knocking off any of the beltholders. I mean Stieglitz and Brahmer and Campillo sound easy because I never seen them fight and they seem unknown. But I saw Stieglitz Andrade and he received a beating but kept fighting hard til stopped and looked like he could beat Miranda. Campillo beat Shuminov and unless Shuminov is a fraud that probably means he beats miranda. Brahmer was KO'd by Calzaghe in one but has some decent wins on his Resumee and probably hs the style to beat Miranda. If Edison could get to 160 again I think he could do some damage. But ever since Pavlik he has lost that bully image kinda like when Tyson lost to Douglas. Just not the same.

Miranda ran into 3 of boxing's top p4p fighters before many knew who they were, and especially how good they are. He had a war with Pavlik and lost a very controversal decision to Abraham in their first meeting. Ward beat him pretty convincingly, but not as bad as he beat Kessler.

I think Miranda may be very underrated at this point in hs career. People have written him off, but now with Goossen in hs corner, I think we are going to see him make a run for the title.

In my opinion Miranda should go down to middleweight he has much better chances to win a titel @ 160

he has a very big chance to ko someone like Sturm or Sylvester

@ 168 he can beat Stiegltz but would lose to all the top guys like Bute, Ward, Abraham, Taylor, Kessler, Andrade Froch or even Bika

Yeah it make one think of what a fight between miranda and kessler would have been like. I tend to think it would have looked like Miranda vs Pavlik, Kessler is faster then Pavlik but other then that they are in many ways alike. I think that Pavlik is slightly more fluid then Kessler, and Kessler may not fight as well as Pavlik did in the early rounds backing up the way he did vs Miranda.

Oh but that fight never happened, not really going to go into why, but we all know that the fight was agreed to and set to go before someone backout for really unknown reasons.:huh

he cant make 160 anymore.... that is why he moved up in the first place was because he was killing himself making weight.

Miranda was a good top middleweight contender but has lost his stock since.

Hope he gets to fight Stieglitz.Entertainment wise that would be great.

Yes looking back now it seems that Kessler would have been the easier fight for Miranda. Too bad you know who decided not to take the fight. I mean think about it, the guys Miranda lost to have a combine record of 87-1, and that one loss coming from one of the all time best in Bernard Hopkins.

I'd love to see him get a title even if it was only briefly.
