i like watching liddel fight, and you're right he really does keep his hands low for some reason. i agree, he'd leave himself wide open for some of mirko's kicks. its really interesting to think how mirko would of gone against fighters that i have seen fighting since getting into mma[about 1yr or so.] how would he go against: Quinton Jackson Lyoto Machida Frank Shamrock Randy Couture Bas Rutten-haven't seen any of his fights as yet, but from what i've read, he's was something quite special, wasn't he?
I think Mirko stops Jackson late or wins a decision. Rampage is tough and has decent boxing but Mirko would break him apart with the leg kicks and body kicks something Rampage simply has no defense for. Shogun proved agianst Machida that his movement can be timed. Shogun caught him with dozens of liver kicks while chasing Machida down and timed a right hand that dropped Machida when Machida did his trademark lunging knee. I think Cro Cop has great timing and would stop Machida in 2 rounds. Im sorry man but Frank is to small and isnt great in any single area. Frank is naturally 185 pounds and isnt good enough a striker or a wrestler to give Cro Cop fits. I see a brutal KO. Randy is give the best chance. If he can close that gap and get inside and used clinch and cage tactics he can get Cro Cop down wear him down phyiscally and mentally and score a GNP TKO. Mirko does have a great sprawl but ive never been impressed with his takedown defense from a clinch and takes where Randy excells. That said id favor Mirko about 6-7 times out of 10 fights hes so much quicker on his feet and I think he would be able to time Couture with those left hands or kicks. So I like Cro Cop by knockout most of the time if these 2 where to fight. Randy has better striker now at 47 but hes got very little punch resistance at this point 8-9 years ago he could take a great shot but his striking was horrible. So either way hes screwed if he had to stand for long periods with Mirko. Yes Bas was a beast. Speaking of kicks :yep Nasty **** he dished out.
i see crocop destroying chuck 1st round. im talking in their prime. yes maybe second rd but crocop has fast handz and hez capable of getting chuck so injured by short choppin low leg kickz. plus this doesnt get mention enough but why crocrop waz so great waz his ability to blend in leg kickz and punching and to it so beautifully. in his hay day he blended it with such deciet that it overwelmend his oppenentz over senses and they would begin to second guess themselvez. then he would hammer them with a huge shot that would change the fight.
The blending kicks with punches is great but ive always been amazed at how fluid Cro Cop's hand combos can be. There is a combo in the 3rd Barnett that was just sick I cant even describe it and he even showed flashes of it in the Pat Barry fight. When Cro Cop gets to let the hands and feet go its beautiful yet kinda scary.
Mirko's left leg is the single most dangerous thing MMA has ever seen. When you consider it, it offers two ways to destroy an opponent.. One with the liver kick, and the other is the obvious head kick.. You cannot protect both at the same time.. When Mirko was younger, he really pulled the trigger a lot, his fights were brutal. More gun shy and slower these days. I don't really see any attack quite as dangerous as Mirko's left leg.. We will be lucky to see something similar again.
Cro Cop reminds me of Roy Jones. At their prime, both were devastating. Then they were past it and after a brutal KO, they were completely shot and gun shy, lose to lesser fighters.
i mixed up the shamrocks earlier. i meant to ask how mirko would've went against KEN shamrock, not frank. i was looking at mirko's fight record and he seems to of had a bit of trouble with Ernesto Hoost.
Prime crocop , had a few inconsistencies..but when he was at the top of his game...he was one of the most dangerous hw in the sport...
completely agree with you. i had followed crocop before he got into pride and of course became aware of him after reading about his deadly leg kickz witch were the truth. when he came to pride the first thing that i remember thinking is "holy shyte this guy can really punch". that said he really did seem to get timid with his punching the last few yearz so anyone that never watched him back then would probably not agree blacklikesunday mentioned about crocopz lossez to hoost and it should be known that hoost is considered one of the ALL TIME GREAT kickboxerz witch he certainly waz the guyz leg kickz were a thing of beauty and he waz a dam good puncher to boot and basically i think crocop learnt alot from having hoost kick the shyte out of him a few timez lol

I'd definitely say that everyone would agree that Cro IS A GREAT STRIKER. imo One of the G.O.A.T. Look at some of his high light knock outs. Hunt who many would argue has a steel chin. and also Fedor's lil bro just to name a few.
