Very wrong of Kongo to say that. Now if he had said that CroCop left because he was exposed in the UFC to be overrated....fine. Pricky, but fine.

Making assumptions like that between fellow athletes,..with no concrete basis for it is shitty.

**** Kongo..... ****ing Tim Sylvia would submit his overrated ass.

In Couture's case, his losses were a good thing. I don't think that there are excuses made for his losses. They were a good thing, because after each loss, he evolved into a better fighter. He is a guy who came into MMA with nothing but wrestling and some dirty boxing. He got subbed a couple times, and now he is so good at sub defense that he can compete to a draw against possibly the best submission grappler in the world. He used to get a bit gassed... now he treats his body like he should, and is always in AMAZING shape. He got knocked out a couple times by Chuck, and then you saw him in there against Sylvia using some extremely effective head movement, which he wasn't using before.

The man is always evolving, and it is because he learned from his mistakes.

    ufoalf....

By "good thing"... I don't mean that they proved his greatness... or make his resume look better. What I mean is that they were good for him, as a fighter. He learned from them and evolved. Rather than most fighters (Mark Coleman, Randleman, Belfort, Abbott, Cro-Cop, ect...) who lose, and come back into the cage/ring the next time as the same exact fighter. Failing to make the adjustments needed to grow from a defeat.

lol, i know what you mean. Either way people often overlook those loses because in their mind "he got better from them" w/e it is. Also, often times people would discount his loses because they were against good competition in most cases and twist it in such an angle that "well he's faced ONLY great opponents in past decade", ye... but 3rd of them were loses.

Either way, I dunno where this conversation is even going but fact remains that people tend to twist records of their fav fighters into a positive direction.

I think it has to do more with his potential than what he actually accomplished. Lets face it, he had, or has the single most dangerous weapon in MMA with that left leg of his. When it worked for him, he had some of the most spectacular knockouts we have ever seen. Follow it up with a great left cross, and just the fact that he is a southpaw alone creates different angles, and creates the very rare left leg to the liver weapon, which I don't think he used often enough.

Not like this type of thing hasn't happened to Crocop throughout his career.. His knockout loss to Kevin McDonald, relatively light hitting guy that would out work his opponents and wasn't a devastating striker knocked him out with a jab.. Sometimes, Crocop outright sucked.. Other times, he looked like a world beater.. Take it for what it is, there are no ultimates in fighting, pardon the pun.
