What does that have to do with how entertaining the fight was? Get back in the other thread and give us your scorecard for Hatton's 'debateable' (eleven rounds to one on all the official cards) win over Urango...
There's no misconception in the sense that it's completely subjective. Entertainment value is subjective. Some people like to watch paint dry. Some people like to watch Mel Brooks movies. Some people like to watch Masterpiece Theater and some people like to go to the zoo and watch monkeys make amore. Subjective. I would prefer the Mel Brooks movies but to each their own.
good point, i think the bigger arguement here is.... the classic pressure fighter vs pure boxer some tend to find one more entertaining over the other, i actually like both
Im probably more biased being a big Hatton fan but i enjoyed his fights pre-Tszyu and also Collazo, Mallignaggi, PBF fights, the Kayoes of Castillio and Maussa were quality too
i kinda like the last punch in the castillo fight. castillo was in a ducking position, then ricky faked a punch to the head, then followed it with the same left hand to the ribs.
No he's not, mainly because of the hit and hold, Ruiz'esque style he adopted. And no he wasn't exciting before that because he was fighting smaller/older men who couldnt fight back, that was 1 sided and boring too. I don't mind watching his fights or anything just don't tell me he's exciting because he's not
i agree...alot of people **** on the tsyzu fight...mostly because of the tactics employed and the fact that he was able to get away with them because he was at home....and while i agree with those sentiments to a degree...i still found the fight entertaining to watch because of the big fight atmopshere they have on that side of the pond...its fun to watch...u can feel the electricity...the last time i remember a fight over here with that much electricity in the air is when he fought floyd
I dont find him entertaining but thats not the point is it, I dont find Mayweather entertaining either but its all about winning fights when it comes to it and **** the fans. Im pretty sure Hatton would prefer to win using his hit-and-hold technique rather than box and lose.
Hatton's style is not for boxing. It's fitted for MMA where hugging and other infractions not allowed in boxing is permitted.
He was fun to watch when he was younger. Now that he's getting older, and mostly facing better opposition, he's relied more on that ugly hit-and-hold style that suited him very well in his big win over Tszyu.
