The "Hatton is one of the most exciting fighters in boxing" meme was utter nonsense. Against live competition, his style is hideous and borderline illegal. I still laugh when I think about the HBO commentary team trying hype Hatton's level of excitement during the Urango fight when he was literally diving into clinches during the second half of the fight after Urango gave him one solid tap to the body.

I thought Hattons most entertaining fight was against Eamonn Magee, personally. Big "England V Ireland" atmosphere in the arena and it was Hattons first really big test. He got dropped in the first and was in trouble again in the 2nd if memory serves me right. It was the first time Hatton ever impressed me because he adapted his tactics from then on and won the fight comfortably but there was always the danger he could get caught again.

In hindsight, the writing was on the wall from there on as far as Hatton was concerned, when you consider how both Floyd and Pac beat him.

hatton has never been involved in a classic fight.

but he's had a bunch of good ones.

    collazo
    phillips
    thaxton
    floyd
    pac
    lazcano
    maussa

    and so on.

It's commonly thought that Ricky Hatton is fat. This is false. He is in fact obese.

It's amusing the way that the Yanks still claim they kicked our ass 200 years ago, when the fact is the French bailed them out. Yes, the same French they consider an enemy these days :patsch

I found his fight's entertaining to watch as has been stated there where less exciting fight's but the guy had a do or die attitude in his early day's leading up to Zoo he got a little less entertaining from that point onward's but he had alot on the line and presure can do that to a man in any aspect of life but despite that he only come up short twice and to the very best there was , gotta be honest the only fighter in my eye's who defeated Hatton at his prime was Mayweather the most gifted boxer of are time and that was 7 pound's north of Hatton's comfort zone , before anyone go's silly yes im saying Pac beat a past him prime version of Hatton
