It is known throughout George Foreman's career, his h2h status prime was his athletic 70's physique.

However, I have yet to see a thread on how there are two different versions of a 70's Foreman with h2h matchups. Early pre-Zaire Foreman and post-Zaire George with his training under Gil Glance.

His shot selection was pretty spot on with Gil, he chose his shots carefully with his stamina (which he infamously never did pre-Ali). The only problem was his completely shot confidence due to the loss.

Would it be a stretch to say a Frazier rematch Foreman is better used for h2h matchups rather than the Foreman of the Norton fight?

Agreed spot on with a June 1976 George Foreman of a Frazier rematch. Gil Clancy had a few heavyweights, he did train Jerry Quarry, and Oscar Ringo Bonavena. Clancy was very detailed to the mechanics of his fighters, he also managed Emile Griffith. The thing that hurt Foreman was discipline, rather than training for Jimmy Young as previously mentioned, he ran around scowling for the cameras being an imitation for his idol Charles Sonny Liston when he could have spent time in Puerto Rico getting used to the climate, Jimmy Young sure did.
