By others, Fighter who otherwise gave it thier all, but thier management didn't have the fighters best interest at heart.

Could Mark Breland have gone alot further with a different manager? Or did his stalled career have more to do with him?

Definitely Gerry Cooney the guy could of made it!

The powers that be wanted a money spinning white fighter - [champion was optional]

He had it all, the height, strength, natural talent, speed, the punch, the smarts, EXTREME marketability, but he still never made it!

The problem was put perfectly by his trainer for the foreman fight, Gil Clancy. He said in the early stages they never let him fight anyone and Conney knew this, this caused Cooney to doubt his abilitys.

Secondly was the timing for the holmes fight. Cooney had never been over 8 rounds and they put him in a 15 round title fight with an ATG, wtf???????He needed more experience in going long into a fight!

Third he wasn't trained right. He fought like a pure puncher, but if Victor Valle would of taught him to box, he could of morphed into a superb box/puncher. I believe what ray arcel said, after the holmes fight he looked across the ring and thought of Louis - Schmeling; believing Cooney could have revenge like the brown bomber. But sadly he never made it, he was one of the biggest wastes in boxing history.

It's only hindsight that serves me, but Davey Moore. Howard Davis too missed some opportunity.

    Maybe Amir Khan?

Time will tell a bit more on that one, perhaps.

Khan was originally the WBO mandatory for Nate Campbell's 135 lb title but Frank Warren turned down the opportunity to fight the champ and Khan was ko'd by Prescott. Guzman was placed ahead of Khan in the mandatory slot in exchange for his 130 lb crown but got cold feet just before the fight.

Had Khan lost to Campbell, fans would have given him credibility because he lost to the champ. Instead he opted to lose to Prescott and the world thinks nothing of him anymore.
