HBO has an equal number of mismatches. Before PBC and the Showtime vs. HBO war got really out of control a few years ago, HBO was ridiculed over and over for mismatches to build up their investment in particular fighters who did not deserve that treatment. People have their agendas. That is pretty much all there is to it because I rarely ever see people criticizing regardless of network. There's always a predictable agenda, it seems. Difference between PBC and HBO is that people pay a good sum every single month for HBO specifically to watch boxing. Most of the networks PBC are on show up in the very basic cable package beyond the standard first 13. And even then, a couple times free aired on those first 13 channels. Every promoter/network has mismatches. HBO and PBC are no exceptions.
I have nothing against either one, but you just can't compare the quality. Lemieux was a legit challenge and a current titleholder at the time he faced Ggg and Gonzalez-Viloria was very competitive, Viloria still a force at the lower weights against anyone that isn't Gonzalez or Estrada. Overrall, guess you can say Hbo has the higher quality mismatches. Similar like Floyd's domination over his opponents with his top knotch skills, Ggg and Gonzalez destroy their opponents for the most part with their own top knotch skills.
Yeah they do. They care about the integrity of boxing and the fighters who participate in it. Al Haymon does not have the health of the boxers in mind. Don't be fooled, Haymon only pays a lot to try to get a monopoly. Once he has a monopoly on boxing, the fighters will get paid peanuts just like Dana White has done with the UFC. You heard it hear first. Mark my words. Haymon is a snake in a suit.
PBC has been better than ESPN's Friday Night Fights. Sure, Haymons end game may be corrupt as hell but I don't think he will achieve the domination of boxing I suspect he is after. So all is good with the free PBC cards as far as I'm concerned. Better question...Why won't Haymon work with Golden Boy at all anymore? I mean, the man sleeps with transvestites so yould think he'd easily want to work with Oscar.
Haymon doesn't want anyone to be able to make it as a boxing promoter. He is trying to dominate the sport. They should be able to sue for more than 100 million if you ask me. Haymon should be facing Anti-Trust laws.
Neither Arum, not De La Hoya are willing to deal with Haymon, thats my point. You cant blame guy A for not making fights, when guys B and C refuse to deal with him. According to the judge last week, that case is going to be very hard to make. Also, if De La Hoya and Arum had enough money behind them, they wouldnt think twice about running every other promoter out of business too. Thats what they're all trying to do. Only difference here is, is that Haymon actually has the financial backing.
We need an e-mail address to complain about mismatches..................I get tired of watch the house fighter who is 30-0 fighting a bum who has 10 fights with 10 losses, all by knockout...................Not all fights are mismatches, but the promoters really believe that boxing fans are very stupid................
Honestly, I have written to several US Senators saying their should be a commission to investigate the PBC and Haymon for acting against the welfare of boxers. I think he is violating the Muhammad Ali Act.
