Nothing disgusting about it. AJ sells the tickets and the PPV. As the star attraction he should be handsomely paid.

If the event makes money why shouldn't AJ get well paid?

Why are you so bothered if AJ makes millions anyway? That's a true hater mentality, hating on someone just cos they are successful.

Instead of being so negative why not look at the positives. The card had some good fights, was entertaining, the arena was full and at the end of it people got a confirmed date for Joshua v Klitchko.

Are people today wishing they never bought tickets? Probably not.

I know what you are saying...yes it wAs great last night and I enjoyed it. But it's also true that there is a pattern of abuse by MISmatchroom.
Look at the bookies odds for the fights on any MISmatchroom Bill. The "house" fighter is almost always a PROHIBIYIVE favourite.
It's a dilemma to be in for sure. Don't watch it and you miss great boxing....watch it and you are supporting the crookery....

We shouldn't forget about the disgraceful Smith-Blackledge bout. Extremely dangerous and irresponsible officiating, corner work and matchmaking - and all given the multiple tragedies that have befallen boxers in British rings this year! F***ing disgusting state of affairs.

In all all the circumstances I found it baffling that fight was allowed to continue...particularly in light of the year we've had with so many deaths and injuries. Amazing.

I ve critisised hearn in the past. He is taking liberties. But the reality is if you want to see that amount of names and that amount of fights on a card...you need to pay for it.

Theres no other way of doing it. Even getting anyone in with joshuas probably gonna cost more than the budget for a normal sky sports card before we even talk about undercards. At the end of the day its less than the cost of a pizza at your local pizza hutt for about 6 hours of boxing a lot of decent names and 2 or 3 quality fights plus a few half decent ones. We ve all complained about his stacked cards...but rarely have i sat down watched one and came away sayng i ve not enjoyed it. Maybe the main event but as a whole they end up worth the money. Think its time to move on...hes offering it to customers...its entirely up to them if they want it or not. No point continually complaining about it.

Actually happy to spend that on guys like chisora and whyte last night...knowing they ve been paid well for what they ve put in...cause thats been above and beyond the call of duty.

Eventually we all need to move with the times.

Paying PPV money is not a problem provided that the fights are 50/50.

Quigg against another blown up Bantam? Why? When will this EVER end?

Calum Smith against someone that is nowhere near his level? People mention Smith with the top 5 names now.

Chisora/Whyte was a domestic fight between a journeyman and an up & comer.

Yafai/Concepion - THAT is the kind of fight you'd expect from EVERY fight on PPV. Tests, 6-/40 at worst.

    Joshua/Molina? Farce. AJ didn't learn a thing.

Again, paying money for a PPV is no problem at all IF the fights that are made are to$$ up's.

Look at ANY betting website when it comes to the odds for a MR show. You WILL NOT win a bean. A MR show is an exhibition for MR fighters, nothing more.

And you say "move with the times"? PPV is the most flawed (as I've just proven) and outdated model (do you live in a cave?) out there.

I echo this, I mentioned in another thread before about the price we pay for PPV compared to America is very reasonable. I certainly felt I got my money worth last night.

Your argument falls down when you try to get them 50/50 fights made financially brixton. The reality is you can have 50/50 fights but only have a couple of fights on the card or you can have a stacked card with some mismatches involving decent names some 50/50,s with say joshua headlining. Theres no other way to make it financially viable otherwise.

That promotion would lose money if you tried to match them all with 50/50 fights. You d have to cut it down to about 3 or 4 fights max. Maybe even 2 or 3. Tbf to hearn what hes selling usually ends up a decent nite of boxing for the money as it is.

I ve been as critical as anyone in the past but when you sit down and look at it...the figures dont work bearing in mind the promoter deserves to be paid also. Everyone blaming hearn but a lot of the problem lies with the boxers themselves demanding crazy money to get in and take them 50/50 fights.

Exactly. Show me a promoter that puts a card together where every fight is 50/50.

This isn't like pro wrestling or mma ufc where there is a boss and matchmaker who decides who fighters fight.

I've asked before if ppv isn't the answer what is? TV networks are not prepared to pay the rights fees to make shows profitable.

HBO is a huge network and even they end up sticking fights on ppv that people don't expect as they won't budget for the fights.

Purses are going up while networks budgets for boxing go down.

We have a boxing network over here and guess what they are not exactly flooded with subscribers as people don't want to pay a monthly fee for boxing no matter how many fights they show.

Fall down? Bump up the price then. I mean AJ vs Molina and that card for £16 or PROPER 50/50 fights with LEGIT talent for £20? Nay problem.

How many 50/50 fights did we get last night? None. So we're LUCKY to get 1, never mind your 2-3.

Before Eddie started milking the PPV it was the same. Quigg against nobodies, AJ against nobodies, Calum against nobodies... The only thing that has chafed is that now we're having to pay for it.

Was you around in the 90's when PPV meant 50/50 fights? A card that started here and ended up in America with WORLD CLASS FIGHTS all for £15 odd? And the guys on those cards were earning MANY MORE MILLIONS than the crowd last night.

Personally your allright paying the extra but how manys others are happy to pay it...realistically your probably still not getting them all 50/50 fights with that extra 4 quid per ppv. Where does it end 50 quid for ppvs?

Chisora/whyte was a genuine 50/50. That yafai v conception was a 50/50 going in. Never seen it but heard burton v bungolioni was a cracker.

Yeah but the nobodies that aj was fighting back then were taking a modest fee compared to what there accepting nowadays. You couldnt do a card like last night on regular sky and make money.

Your saying all for 15 odd quid back in the nineties but 15 quid back then was worth a lot more than 15 quid now. They must have been cutting decent deals with the americans to view there ppv,s back then. Bearing in mind the americans were selling it ppv in america and making a fortune they probably sold the tv rights at a modest fee. Its alright to complain that it was better back in the nineties or whenever...but at some point you need to accept theres a reason behind why its not so good today. You ve got guys like quigg and frampton demanding 5 million plus each for a fight or whatever the figures are.

Well, if it's a case of domestic dust up's for £15 or WORLD CLASS fights for £20, I know where my money is going.

Well why DO we have to have all of those on one card then? Why not put AJ in against someone WORLD CLASS and then charge for it? Chisora/Whyte is not PPV, Quigg/whoever isn't PPV, Smith/Blackledge - the same. Why can't these fights be lumped on normal Saturday TV? These guys MUST KNOW that they need a dance partner of equal skill to receive big money, no? None of them have a following anyway.

Look at the bigger picture: ALL of those fights aren't PPV. And if AJ, who is BY FAR more popular than EVERY FIGHTER ON THAT CARD COMBINED, wants the big money, why can't we have the other fights on a normal saturday night fight night? They haven't got belts or a following to command big money.

Its a decent argument tbf brixton. Think either way tho he d end up getting stick for it. Think the fury v klitchko fight was basically what your saying. Just concentrate all the money into the main event. Look how that ended up...everyones still complaining about it yet. Say he put klitchko v joshua on paid them the money had little left for a decent undercard and joshua knocks him out in one round. What then?

It probably comes down to personal preferences. For me tho the cards eddies putting on maybe not on paper but overall have ended up well worth the money. Hes getting lucky...but at the same time having all them fights on the card surely a few of them will light up.

Even some of them fighters on the card on a genuine 50/50 fight would probably go over a normal sky sports budget without knowing the figures. Say ortiz v parker...would probably be too much. Or quigg v frampton again. Or i bet whyte v chisora probably would as well at a push.

Fighters know their worth a lot more nowadays also. Their looking at guys like joshua seeing him get paid 5 million a fight then saying i m worth a 1 million then. Doesnt matter how you look at it tho to please everyone probably wouldnt be financially viable.

Tbh although i ve hated the hearn ppv formula. At the end of the day...i d happily see guys like whyte and chisora getting paid well for last nights efforts on the back of it being ppv. Same with what i heard of the burton fight. Hopefully the ppv format sees less of these guys finishing up with brain damage skint. For 16 quid the price of a pizza nowadays at pizza hutt i can think of worse ways to spend 16 quid.

I think anybody watching would be forced to admit they enjoyed Saturday, im not a fan of PPV and I think it's written in AJ's contract he is PPV only, i'd expect but may be wrong that Hearn was taking a hit on Saturday praying AJ came through so he makes a killing on 29th April. Burton v Buglioni, Whyte v Chisora both fight of the year contenders and at least interesting on paper pre-fight, Quigg, Smith, Katie Taylor all on the card the first 2 in bouts that while strong favourites had they not turned up could have went wrong and Yafai boxing a legitimate world champion many expected him to lose to it was never to bad a card.
