is it just me?, or is it tougher to be a boxing fan these day's in the age of pay -through- the- nose- tv?
my boxing interest (and slight obsession!) was shaped in the late 80's/early 90's.unprecidented access to boxing most weekends on terrestial tv.
how is the sport supposed to be shaping new fans,(and it's future depends on it!),,when the only way to see is to pay, pay, pay??
    :huh:huh:huh:huh

i agree,,setanta do a great job on the boxing (they are one of the better ones ,,bunce is a legend!!..
but unless the young fans are lucky enough to have a boxing fan in the family to pay the monthly channel fee!!,then what exposure is possible??

Agreed. I used to be a big fan and watch pretty much every fight that was televised, buy the boxing mags. Boxing is so fractured now its almost impossible for all but the most dedicated fans to follow.
Sky don't talk about any fighters not signed to the network, and act like everyone they show is a world beater, while largely neglecting to show the really big fights.
For any new fan they see Steve hasbeen vs bobby neverwas for the IBO interplanetary title live on sky, and think 'is this it?'.

Would football be as popular if the only stuff ever televised free was conference league?
