Don King is cool.
He made things happen.

 

King bribed one of the judges to reduce the charge from murder to manslaughter, which is why King got out in 5 years, for murder.

Cheated a lot of guys outta money but he sure knew how to put a card together much better than GBP or Top Rank could ever dream of.

 

Humberto Soto should sign-up with Don King, cause Don is a proven promoter that had made 2 Big Mexican Legends (Salvador Sanchez, and Julio Cesar Chavez) before, and could take Soto far, in boxing.

Mike Tyson has said in the past, that Don King is such a cold blooded thief/killer that King would kill his own mother and wife, just to make money.

Well today you have guys like Gary Shaw, and his son Jared Shaw promoting, and Dan Goossen, and his son promoting, also Lou DiBella, and his son promoting. All six of these men are NOT promoters, they are all match makers. Not even good match makers. Have you ever seen a complete Goossen or Shaw fight card on boxrec? Utter trash.

 

He mustve had some serious pull/muscle even back then cause a young black man in the 60s didnt get off easy for any murder wrap. The guy is right up there with just about any mobster in recent history. I even remember hearing that he was involved in racketeering with John Gotti. But, King must be brilliant cause he can show his face in public in is highly respected and influential in boxing without ever paying a price.
