Wasn't he out of the Black Spades by the time he got into boxing, like around the mid-1970's or so? Iran Barkely was in the gang with him, and said in his book he was the toughest one. I've heard a story once about him and Tim Witherspoon hanging out and drinking, and Mitch supposedly shot one of Don King's cows, and blamed it on Tim.
