You can tell a fighter was pretty sh!t in real terms when people have to bring up his "street fighting" and "gang member" stuff. The best thing that can be said of Mitch Green was that he was a very good amateur boxer. As a professional he went the distance with Berbick and Tyson.
What past time top HW's did he hit harder than? completely different being in a ring with guy who can fight with 10oz gloves on than some terrified lard **** getting punched in the face while surrounded by a gang.
I've never been overly impressed with the footage I've seen of him either. And his record on paper isn't much to write home about at all. I think Floyd Cummings may well be the best opponent he's ever beaten.
Intersting post by you. This proves you aren't so hopeless case. Green win is very underrated considering Tyson's age. I don't know another 19 years old heavyweight fighter who could beat a prime Green quality fighter (who was a wasted talent).
I actually knew some guys who had a run in with this guy on the street after he lost his head! Intersetinly the thread wasn't about his skills or anything else ...it was his speed yet the few usual imbeciles flew in here head first and crashed anyway!
Henry Cooper was know as a knock out artist in the day.hes the same guy who leveled Ali..what was he 6'0 180 pounds?
Mitch was very fast, his technique wasn't the strongest. Iran Barkely mentions him being the toughest of the Spades in his book, and Greg Page said he was tough to deal with when they fought.
