talk to me about mitch green fellas i always wondered how well he would do would todays crop of heavies if he was motivated and in his prime.....he had a hell of a chin, took huge punishment of prime tyson, and his record suggests he had a heavy dig too...and when he wanted he had fast hands too, maybe not the best defence though. what do you aficionados think of him ?
Ok here's some Mitch Green info....he once went to rob a petrol station and when the attendant ran for his life, Green started filling up people's cars and pocketed the money. He was still filling them up when the cops arrived
Theres a whole section on him in the Tyson book, might type it up later. Very crazy and interesting fellow. Had decent skills, just didnt have the dedication Also made a video of himself mocking Tyson can calling him a Ho-Mo, calling hime Michelle Tyson. Also tried to attack Larry Holmes at a press conference until one of his bodyguards bit Greens finger off. Looks like Kelly Rowland with a beard
Was a member of the notorious Black Spades, and supposedly, one of the most feared members.Iran Barkely, a fellow Black Spade, said he was the toughest one of them all.Went 64-7 as an amateur, and held his own pretty much against everyone.Would've won 5 New York Golden Gloves, but had a fluke loss by cut in the '78 tournament.Greg Page himself said he was pretty tough to deal with.He had decent skills, and with the right motivation, could have used the Tomorrow's Champions deal to get him to the top, but drawing with Robert Evans early on wasn't that good.He should've fought James Broad for the NABF title in '85 as planned, but his own ego and bad out-of-the ring habits got in the way.
