Clearly Mitchell had eaten not enough/too many jellied eels. Delete as appropriate.

He didn't make any excuses and gave Burns full credit, showed class at the press conference.

I don't think his relative lack of activity in the past four years or so has helped matters at all.

For every good opponent (there hasn't been many) there's been multiple bus drivers who he'd beat in his sleep.

He needs to get himself straight back out, on the next FW show.... and just beat the crap out of some poor, unsuspecting journeyman for 8 rounds, and then get on the Burns undercard against a decent opponent.

Or try and get the winner of Prizefighter, something like that.

Fighters rebound from losses in different ways, another year long break will probably end him.

I agree I don't think it helped, I don't believe that's the reason he lost though, Burns was just better, he made his reach advantage work, everytme Mitchell tried to get into Range he was eating leather.

Mitchell himself was left hook happy and never was in a position to land it with any authority, strange tactics overall, I thought he was going to box and pick his moments to attack, instead he tried to make it a war against a naturally stronger fighter? strange.

This was a Mitchell who had been training like an animal.

In the shape of his life.

    Living the life.

    Not my words.

He got smashed simple as end of.

what I took was, he wasn't talking about his loss to Ricky, but a big problem in general, let's face it, it's been 14 months since he beat Murray, and since then he had a "keep busy" fight with the under-rated but nothing special power puncher Felix Lora.

That's 14 months, as he says, "that's rediculous".

Says it all when he doesn't even know who's in his division and refers to them as Cuban and Mexicans.

I think he's more maturer and i think he's right he doesn't fight enough but no excuse for a sloppy defensive display and naive tactics and losing to better pro and fighter.
