In hindsight, this was a pretty desperate move from Warren. Since Khan jumped ship it seems that he's been trying to fast-track the likes of Mitchell, sending Enzo to Russia and sending Cleverly to Italy (re-arranged for Wembley later).

He's desperate for another marquee ticket seller.

He'll be trying to push Kell Brook next.

He's always had a steady stream of boxers that crossover into the mainstream since the early 90's.

    Hamed - Hatton - Calzaghe - Khan...........

2010... he's got a big hole... a void to fill.... he's trying hard to create a star.... taking risks..... it's about time.

:thumbsup When anyone starts with the "building fighters" argument I always refer them to someone like Oscars record, never fought a man with a losing record and fighting Jeff Mayweather and winning in his 5th fight

In a way it can only be a good thing for your average boxing fan fighters being thrown in with tests sooner more competetive fights more aggressive marketing. Also the opportunity for Hatton promotions to try ad muscle in on major promotion in the UK. I think this a calculated gamble that Warren didnt lose too much on but probably only lost a little or broke even but potentially could have given him a big star. Now he has to do it with Brook and Cleverly and move other prospects along Bellew Ste Smith and Degale are all prime candidates

It's a bit of a watershed moment in British promoting modern history though.

Hennesey should be making the most of this and getting Froch cards loaded up with Murray, Barker, Fury etc.. He's never had a better opportunity. Warren's stock has never been so low.
