Well....I hadn't seen Katsidis fight before this, I saw the clips on the programme before the fight and thought "ohhhhhh ****.....this guy can bang."

I figured Mitchell would be smart enough to keep him at bay and stay out of trouble, but his lack of experience in dealing with getting tagged cost him dearly. Those jabs weren't keeping Katsidis at bay and whenever he went in he looked dangerous.

He made Mitchell look like a domestic level fighter out of his depth.

I like the way Katsidis came across in the interview afterwards as well, very down to earth.

And there's no way on earth that he would get a chance to fight Khan with power like that.

Glad Katsidis won, nothing against Mitchell but Katsidis is a stand-up kinda guy who always comes looking for the knockout.

I thought Katsidis would be too strong, but I'm still surprised he wiped Mitchell out quite so quickly. Credit to him, a reality check but back to the drawing board for Mitchell.

    To the Mitchell fans,

You need to stick to a fight plan against a fighter like Katsidis. His chin is pretty much granite, so I don't care how many guys Mitchell has KTFO, he was never going to stop Kats except on cuts.

That being said Mitchell's best chance was boxing for 12 rounds. Maybe he paid too much respect to Prescott and not enough to Katsidis. You can't assume a guy who has fought countless wars will get old overnight either. Hatton got lucky, KT gassed very early.

My point is Mitchell definitely has a future if he can follow a plan. To those who say it was a premature stoppage - you need to consider the man has a future in and out of the boxing ring.

    Good luck to him.

It's a trip how so many people are enticed by the ever so deceiving undefeated records. I saw right through that padded record. I predicted a late Katsidis TKO, not quite a 3rd round one, though I'm not particularly surprised it came in the 3rd.

The step up in class seemed far too much for Mitchell and although he is still a young boxer it seems he could end up just fighting for domestic titles. Think its likely that will be the biggest promotion he will be involved with. Shame that after the fight he has started his excuses saying his home life wasnt helping.

Michael Katsidis - very likeable guy, first time had seen him fight live in the uk. Top fighter, hope he takes on better
