    Back on the Groves undercard!

    Nice! I'll get to that.

Mitchell could have stopped him whenever he wanted tonight. He wanted to get the 10 rounds in, and he hurt Lora every time he laid it on him.

I don't think that's remotely true. Aside from the fact Lora's recovery time was very quick Mitchell didn't have the correct approach to knock the guy out. He was looking for the perfect counter left-hook finish. You're not going to get many knockouts like that, they come now and again naturally but he was trying to manufacture it. Should have just stepped it up as the fight progressed and not allowed this guy to gain so much confidence.

Thought that was a good fight to be honest. Lora was better than I expected and Mitchell boxed pretty well overall.

Burns v Mitchell would be close but I still edge to Kev.

So you are agreeing with me that he wasn't looking for the KO, but instead was content to get the 10 rounds in? Kev dropped him on the 2nd, and showed he had the power to stop him in the last. Instead of finishing it, you could see him taking a few steps back.

I'd be surprised if he fought before the summer

I think he was probably looking for a KO, but he went about it the wrong way. I don't know if he fancies himself as some type of counterpunching technician post-Murray, but I'd have preferred him to just get down to business tonight. Forget saving yourself, if he'd have fought properly he'd have got rid of the guy in 6 rounds as you're right, he did have the power to.

I just didn't like the performance, a few eye catching punches aside which you'd expect against this type of opponent considering all he did was wait on counterpunches, he didn't truly dominate quite a few rounds.

If you are looking for a warm up for a world title fight then you could do much worse than that.

after being out for 7 months it was a solid 10 rounds against a fighter who looked like he fancied it.

    good professional job.

I completely agree T. I was a little disappointed in the tactics as he could have stopped Lora. But I'm pleased with the 10 rounds after a long lay off. He isn't a Marquez tho, and he should stop trying to be.

I still think he beats Burns, possibly by knockout

Mitchell love him to bits but its so blatant he's gonnar end up going on a mad one, the blokes a nightmare, i hope he stays of the **** but i think the damage is done i think he has missed to many fights and think Burns will win a points decision when they meet.

I think Burns will actually walk Kevin down and dominate him if he fights like that. Burns may not be spectacular but he actually knows his own game very well and I'm not sure if Kevin does. He seems to be caught in between a weird mix of styles, he thinks that just because his counterpunching made a difference against Murray its the way forward when in reality he hasn't got the defence/fight ending power to pull it off against most fighters. To me Kevin Mitchell is at his best when he's in a war. He may well lose but using this style I see it fizzling out as a damp squib like the Kat fight, where he never truly had a go and once you're on the backfoot its hard to wrestle back momentum.

    Burns stops him I reckon.

I'm just catching up on chavez-rubio fight now and watching ariza in the corner. Ariza is talking to chavez in the corner, he doesnt want to leave the corner - last one to leave and he is still slabbering in chavez ear, primadonna **** strength and conditioner.
