Master class just like Bellew v McKenzie Opponent wasn't bad though, i liked that guy. Fair play to them for finding him.
TFFP - He will have to fight at a much higher pace for burns and it is a tough fight for him. I think when he slips up close he should throwing more quick short punches against burns - something he didnt do tonight. But he was is with an agressive puncher after his lay off. Re: leonard - he had innate vulnerabilities - which helped make him a great boxer. In fact, according to mannie seamon, leonard was eaisily hurt, easier than an average fighter.
I don't think Mitchell is easy to hit at all. Yes Johanneson dragged him into a war, but that was what, 4 years ago? And he got caught with a good shot against a fringe world class operator in Katsidis who has made a habit of stopping pretty much everyone. Murray tagged him in the second and that was all. The guy last night didn't hit him clean. I'm not saying he is sweet pea, but he isn't bad defensively IMO. As for Mitchell - Burns. Kev has more power, a better jab IMO and more variety in his work. Burns has really impressed me lately, but of he tries to stop Kev he'll get knocked out. Burns should use the tactics he deployed against Kats if the fight comes off
I watched it at work on the company PC so it wasnt very clear ..... BUT I was expecting knock out But i was impressed with kev's paitence listening to tibbs good disciplined performance he got clipped a few times & didnt fire back in rage stayed calm and boxed he will need that paitence against burns who will be awkward for kev all night obviously what they've been working on !
Kevins got a better jab than RickyWell why didnt he use it last night, you are ****ing crazy mate but youve made my day
I have to disagree with this, and strongly about the variety part. I think Ricky's jab would be the more effective in a fight between the two and regarding the variety, both throw nice uppercuts (though in my mind Burns' are more compact, technically better in the way they are thrown) and have reasonably fast hands (slight edge to Mitchell in this) yet Burns to me is the significantly better body puncher and has consistently proven himself to be accurate with what he throws. That's why I favour Burns. However, the debate a potential fight has caused definitely proves it should be made should Burns get past Moses.
I think it's a close fight. Lets get real about things here, neither Mitchell or Burns are the second coming. It wasn't like Burns destroyed Katsidis is it ?
was at the york hall the other night, blinding atmosphere! (although every fight went the way it was expected) ..thought mitchells movement was v good, jab was also good and underated as is his punching power!..bit disapointed he didnt throw his right hand more but can see why he was using movement more than standing there toe to toe wiv the fella as he looked powerfull and was swingin like crazy! the burns fight will b very close and hard to call, burns will b easy to hit and does go down, fancey kev to catch him a few times and perhaps knock him down more than once, but burns obv not scared of a row as proved against katsidis..gonna b a *******!
