He's shaping up to be the British Arturo Gatti

He would beat Alex Arthur IMO

He could definitely beat Alex Arthur. I wouldn't make him favourite, but it is a possibility. Arthur looks horribly weight drained at super feather

Maybe but Arthur is a pretty accurate puncher & Mitchell is way too easy to hit in my opinion.

I say Mitchell would KO AAA.
He is just naturally tougher and I dont see him getting KO'd himself.
The only way I see mitchell being stopped is by a cut or the ref saying he is taking too much punishment.
I dont think this fight would go the distance either, it would be a good fight and I hope they sell out the o2 but i dont know about that.

But the same could be said the other way round, only Arthur has a very questionable chin too. He's been hurt by much lesser punchers. Arthur is the favourite, as he is more refined and polished, but it wouldn't suprise me to see him get KTFO at any time if he remains at 130.

Yep. AAA is so grossly underrated it's not true.

I'm not saying I heavily favour Arthur or anything I just think he'll be a big step up in class for Mitchell & the Dagenham lad will need to step up his performance if he is emerge victorious. I'm not saying it's beyond him but I lean slightly towards Arthur in this fight.

TFFP I don't think Mitchell is anywhere near as accurate a puncher as Alex.

Maybe not, but he has got a good varied offensive game. That's his strong point, along with decent power and real heart. Those attributes can take you far against a weight drained guy who isn't exactly Sweet Pea himself, and has a shakey jaw. We can't forget Foster Jr already. I'd like to see Mitchell against Foster Jr too.

I'll quite happily go against the grain and pick Mitchell if it happens, even though my logical head is 70/30 Arthur. I've got a soft spot for Mitchell, its just a gut feeling and someone has to do it :yep

If truth be known I'll be cheering for Mitchell but I just see Arthur's quality shining through in the end. Like you said though, Mitchell does have real heart & he'll be well up for this one so we could be in for a terrific fight.

Deceiving shot which stopped the fight but on the replay it looked a solid one.

Unimpressive display from Mitchell though, no head movement and leaky defence against n oponent which was nothing more than a solid journeyman there for the payday.

I just rewatched the fight & I noticed the commentators saying how Arum had said Estrada was nothing more than a journeyman these days. The commentators used the trouble he was giving Kevin as an example of why thats not the case, but in reality we were merely seeing Mitchell's limitations as a fighter.

Alex Arthur would mince Kevin Mitchell, and thats no joke.

I hope to god that fight gets made, just to put a smile back on my Scottish face.

Mitchell shouldnt get anywhere near a world title yet, not good enough. Saying that I dont think Alex Arthurs good enough to be anywhere near a world title either - modern boxing for ya...
