    Prime Gomez???

Prime Gomez wasnt up to much. Bognar beat him for crying out loud, & Arthur destroyed Bognar.

OK, I know Gomez beat Arthur. Sometimes upsets happen on a grand scale in boxing & the journeyman gets lucky. At least Gomez can boast that he beat a future world champion. Thats his only claim to fame, cos at the end of the day hes a journeyman who will only be remembered for beating a prospect before he matured into the fighter he is today.

Michael Gomez? hes held in way too high an esteem here by people who let their hearts rule their heads. Wont be long until Khan retires him though I suppose. Still wont stop people here saying hes the best fighter ever though cos he beat a young Alex Arthur.

how's it going Dunky? I hadn't seen much of Gomez before the Athur fight so maybe i'm overrating him. Overall i'd say none of them are world class. Never been a fan of Arthur but i'd pick him over Mitchell.

There was nothing lucky about Gomez's win that night. He fought a terrific fight against an inexperienced & slightly naive Arthur.

    Im not too bad thanks!

He was always the same basically Swollocks. Always had a good punch at domestic level, always had stamina problems. I cant take it away from Gomez that he beat Arthur. However, all these people who think Gomez is a warrior? Look at his record. Its awful apart from his win against Arthur, but some painfully average fighters get shock wins against young prospects, like Carl Thompson against David Haye for example.

A past his prime Thompson KO'd a young cocky prospect called David Haye, & a past his prime Gomez KO'd a cocky young prospect called Alex Arthur?
& where are they all now? Haye unified his division & Arthur is now a WBO champion.

Thompson is now retired, & Gomez will be retired soon enough after Khan spanks him. One off defeats happen, & thats why I cant buy into all these Gomez fans claiming him as a heroic warrior. He was an average fighter who got lucky by getting a prospect at the right time.

Of course though, in typical english fashion they are making a film about Gomez cos he beat a scotsman:-( It doesnt matter that Gomez is irish, the very fact he talks with a mancunian accent is enough for the english to make a film about him like hes ****in Rocky Balboa...

Sad thing for Gomez though is that hes going to have no happy ending against Khan. Write that into the ****ing script.

Gomez? No way. I may dislike the way hes loved cos he beat Arthur, but hes never threw a fight. I will give that to Gomez, he always tries to win.
No way the guy throws fights.
