The main reason that Mitchell got beat that night was because theres a world of difference between Michael Katsidis the guys Mitchell had been fighting up to that point.
I agree. Not the best fight to take from Mitchells point of view at this time but how much of that 11 month gap since the Kats fight is down to him??
I thought Sky were saying last night that Rees fights the winner of that fight but with boxing anything can and will happend.
the domestic pool at lightweight is quite decent now with murray, mitchell, crolla and rees. some big fights can be made there. also some decent international names like diaz and katsidis to stir it up a bit. mitchell-murray would be a stormer. but if it doesn't come off it aint the end of the world, a lot of big fights can be made.
Not to be rude mate. I appreciate your close to Kevin and thanks for direct news but if he's getting paid peanuts did he actually agree to the fight because the fight was announced?.
Posted this in another thread and got no response. Haven't purse bids been called for Murray - Rees for the European? With Rees the mandatory, doesn't that mean that Murray needs to fight him or vacate? Is this something to do with this being called off?
**** is this actually true? Disappointing if it is off. This was the perfect fight for both of them. I like Kevin Mitchell but his career has been such a waste so far. He's only ever had about 3 half decent fights where he hasn't been about 1/33 at the bookies. It's no wonder he got beat when he finally stepped up in class. The same will be said for John Murray soon if he doesn't sort himself out with some better opposition soon. At least Murray's been fighting at a reasonably competitive British level for the last couple of years though.
