Didnt see that coming, and i certainly didnt envisage Mitchell moving up a weight:think Still hoping for Burns and Mitchell though.Primarily because i think Burns will get Ko'd and is a bit overrated by certain posters on here.
pne buz of coarse burns is overated WBO 3 ,Commonwealth champion and undefeated in 2 1/2 years.GET A LIFE MATE HA HA!
I wonder why Mitchell is moving up in weight? I haven't heard of any problems in making weight before and he is moving into a tougher division on the world stage. :huh
I dont rate him that highly from what ive seen,Just another Alex Arthur. He got hammered of Gomez as Burns would have done had Gomez been a few years younger.Mitchell in different league pal:good
I wouldn't go as far to say in a different league pne buz. Burns has got the skills to give Mitchell kittens in that fight. Burns is good on the back foot and that alone could be tough for Mitchell. I rate Mitchell and for me this is a 50/50 fight. For Burns to beat Mitchell I think he'd have to get rounds in the bag early and force Mitchell into mistakes. From there I could see Mitchell making those mistakes and Ricky tagging him here and there to a points victory. But Mitchell in a different league to Burns is delusional I'm afraid. So what's the crack Billy who is Ricky going to be fighting now?
PNE BUZ -- You are ****ing Mental. In now way is Mitchell in a different class to Burns. Burns would beat him and it would be comfortable in my opinion. Since Johanesson respectively, Burns has got better against better opposition and Mitchell has got worse against crap opposition. Mitchell will be getting outboxed AND outpunched at 140. He wasn't struggling to make weight, although it seems his right arm is heavy as **** - Hence why he cannot defend against a LeftHook
Burns certainly isn't worth a top 3 spot with the WBO, no matter how you try to dress it up. That isn't by any means saying that I don't rate Burns - in fact I do, but his connections to Sports Network no doubt guarantee that ranking. How else can you explain why Bradley Pryce was rated higher than Jamie Moore at 154? He might have gone 10 or 12-0 since losing to Johanneson, but a fair few of those couldn't be classed as anything more than journeymen, and he looked less than great against O'Hara, 114-113 I scored it I think. On Mitchell, what a waste. Again, a fighter that didn't deserve his high ranking within the WBO (see above ) and has gotten to 30-0 pretty much fighting absolute stiffs, his best opponent being Carl Johanneson, who was within one punch of ending matters. I realise he has had his misfortunes, a couple of opponents pulling out at the last minute and such, but his stagnation has gone on for too long and I sense a lack of focus. That '0' is going, and quick. I'm surprised Warren didn't stick with this fight, because it's a good one to make. The winner ought to be looking at Euro/WBO honours, the loser back to the domestic scene to earn another go.
Mitchells career has stalled but he is undoubtedly more talented and has the tools to go further in the sport than Burns.A point that will be proved if and when they meet when Mitchell tunes him in within 6 rounds!IMO
Tunes Him ?? Will not happen as Mitchell is now moving up to get 'tuned' himself, as is expected on this forum judging by the response to the news he's moving up
i like burns but he's not worth a top 3 place in any world rankings based on opposition to date. but then again this is the wbo. good luck to burns if he gets the shot though - hope he pulls it off
pne buz kevin is very talented but burns will frustrate the life out of him and beat him comfortably by points or late stoppage, burns is very strong and very fast at 9st 4lbs.
