Yes it is rumored. Is mentioned on a thread here somewhere. Haven't seen it confirmed yet.

Who knows how motivated/confident Mitchell will be these days, we know Rees won't have lost too much confidence after the Broner loss

tactically Mitchell is the better boxer and puncher, even against Burns, during the first meaningful exchange Mitchell landed a monster hook-uppercut combo that thankfully for Burns didn't do too much damage as nothing seemed to be stopping the scotsman that night(wouldn't fancy getting caught with that shot myself)

having said that, mentally Rees is the stronger fighter by far, and while not as big a puncher as a Prescott obviously, hes much faster and could land much more consistently on Mitchell

both fighters seem to fade during the middle rounds which could be crucial, who would wilt first? all depends on Mitchell if you ask me.

would be a tough little battle, hard to pick at this point

it seems like the smart fight to make atm

I think Rees is the better technician, Has the better chin and i think is mentally built better for the big fights.

Both are fringe world class although i think Rees could be argued to be world class the two guys he's lost to have had all the advantages and are both world class operators. Both times he showed qualities whether it be heart, skill, speed where as Kevin sadly crumbled on both occassions.

Style wise it's a fantastic match up with both guys having good speed, decent reactions and lovely variety. Rees has a lovely sneaky left hook a punch with Mitchell has major issues dealing with. He's also good in all ranges i mean look at how he was in the pocket with Broner he didn't get battered like maybe many felt.

I think Mitchell would counter Rees well, Land big shots on him when Gavin's feet root to canvas like they do. But i think Rees variety, speed and craftyness would really trouble Kevin. Mitchell's changed his characther as a fighter over the years and has become more of a aggressive counter puncher over the years and his best fights have been against people who give him those chances by pressing forward with little movement.

With Rees shifting through the ranges well, moving head better the other night and having low centre of gravity as well as ability to punch short and long i think Rees takes it on points. He just has to many dimensions for Mitchell who i think would perform well and trouble Rees with his excellent body punching and counters but not enough to defy the Welshman IMHO.

Until i see evidence that suggests otherwise i think Mitchell is finished with or without Booth. Rees late stoppage after a close fight, that chin of Mitchell's is cracked im afraid.

Mitchell for me, he has all the angles & variety of Rees but far more power & as Rees lacks power at that level the one thing that might make Mitchell mentally fragile is less important or worrying for him as he won't think Rees can hurt him

Mitchell can be the aggressor or the boxer & I think he'd still win..

I see late stoppage or comfortable points win for Mitchell.
