So it was starting around midnight? :wall I had assumed it was earlier (thus overlapping with Barker vs. Geale) and decided to just tune into Solo Boxeo around midnight to see Juan Diaz. Had I know that a) it was still possible to catch Miura vs. Thompson and b) that Solo Boxeo was on tape delay, and the result already up on Boxrec for me to get spoiled by halfway into watching it twisted my plans would have changed.
Miura was dominating most of the fight. But Thompson was still dangerous. He was to slow and had also problems with his stamina.
Yes, in the 8th round, when he got careless. He was down hard, but was coming back at the end of the round.
Very disappointing performance by Yeyo. Very sluggish, no defense at all, and was flopping all over the ring. Not even close to championship material he was a joke. I was more impressed with Miura who's a decent southpaw, tho nothing special, but solid.
Tough win for Miura though. I read he had to be rushed to the hospital with possible liver damage. Hope he checks out OK!
Well, yeah. Thompson landed some wicked shots throughout the fight. It certainly wasn't one way traffic all the way through, despite the fact that Miura won by a fairly comfortable margin on my card. I really, really liked this fight, to be honest.
In the sixth too, though Miura came roaring back and put him down for one of the two kd's that he scored in the contest.
It was a great fight. Report are that Miura is ok so that's good news. Thompson needs to work on some defense. He can't just depend on his power.
