More or less what i was about to say. Fighting plod plod plod with a guy as fast and sharp as Tyson is just asking to get wrecked. Tyson was too fast too furious, espeically in the earlier rounds. thats why Holyfield, Lennox and Douglas took their sweet time with him. Tua would simply be soaking too much punishment. I think Tyson has more dimensions to his game than Tua does. The closest thing to a Tua like fighter Tyson fought was Ruddock. And the closest thing to a Tyson like figher that Tua fought, was probably Ike. What do u think about freddie roaches comments? he said that Tua would outlast Tyson and beat him
It absolutely astounds me how overrated Tua gets in these fantasy matchups. Especially in the classic forum, where modern fighters tend to get underrated as well! Would an unbelievable fight while it lasted and Tua obviously has a punchers chance but Tyson would land far more and get him out of there first, different class of fighter in my opinion.
deal Tyson is in a completely different class . Tyson is an ATG where as Tua is just a could-have-been.
Tua!!!!! Would knock that ***** Tyson into another hemisphere. Remember Tyson had the chin of an 8 year old girl, Tua is a boss.
Larry Holmes is one of the toughest men to hope into the ring and Tyson sparked him,Only one man ever KO'd Holmes and that was a Prime Tyson. If Rahman can stand up to Tua then Tyson certainly will. Tyson by early KO.
Tyson's speed would be the key factor here. Could see him landing at a two to one ratio in a prime for prime match-up; and the way he punched that pretty much ensures a victory of some sort in this fight.
Tua wouldn't know what hit him and I wouldn't be surprised if Tyson stopped Tua. Yes I know Tuas got a great chin, but you dont know how someone is going to react when they get hit by someone like Tyson. PS. Have either of these two guys ever mentioned each other at all? whether about a potential fight or similar styles? I know Tyson went to watch Tua/Lewis because at that time the Lewis/Tyson mega fight was still being hyped
There is that Ring issue titled, "To hell with Tyson. Tua is the man who could beat Lewis!" I believe Tyson predicts a Tua victory in that same issue, if I'm not mistaken.
Tyson would KO him in Round 1, no joke. Since both fighters will most likely go on the inside where they can throw their most powerful shots, the fight will become very explosive right from the opening bell (similar to Hagler-Hearns). it would come down to who can dodge shots better and who can hit harder and faster and without a doubt this goes to Mike Tyson. In his prime, his head movement was superb and he was hardly hit clean in the face whereas Tua was less than stellar. ======================== LIKELY SCENARIO: The Bell rings. Tyson and Tua would both rush to each other and start trading shots. Tyson will hit Tua first with a devastating left hook that Tua will most likely block or roll with to lessen the damage. Tua would then throw a long combination/flurry in an effort to end the fight quickly as he has felt the devastating power from Tyson. Tyson would dodge most or all of them with his incredible elusivity and then throw a crushing counter shot after the flurry whether it be a hook or a right cross and that would end the fight.
