I went to an MMA event in Tampa Florida this past Friday just because I had free tickets and I just wanted to see what it was all about. I must say that at the end of the event I couldnt help but thinking that MMA shouldnt be in competition with boxing but rather with wrestling. Some things I noticed: 1. Matches last an average of 1-2 minutes and it is all. That is why they had like 12 or so matches. 2. When the annouce "Winner by (T)KO by way of _____..." it sounds strange because someone can win by holding on to the other guys foot. 3. There really isn't any skill except two guys going all out trying to land something, anything (elbows, choke, etc) on the other guy. 4. Even though we had a good view of the cage, when guys start wrestling around for that one or two minutes of the fight, you cant see ****. 5. Because the matches were so short, they had too much intermission **** to fill int he gaps.
MMA versus boxing? Dude, can't you do this in the MMA forum or the lounge? There's going to be like, 10 pages on this in less than 2 days. Who wants to have this argument again?
Trust me you weren't missing much I'm sure. How anyone can find that rolling around on the ground **** entertaining is mind-bogling. atsch Frankly, I'd rather watch tennis - at least they're moving around a bit!! :yep
LOL - another agendabitch puts up another MMA versus boxing thread and you guessed it - like flies to **** Zakman puts forth "rolling around the ground ****" line for the billionth time. Time for some new material.:tired News flash haters - the 90's called and want its biased opinions back.:deal
No comparison, boxing rules dating back to 1900. Wrestling has been around but never made it because the general public doesn't want to see two guys rolling around on the floor. Nuff said.
The MMA is boring compared to boxing, most ufc guys are skilled in one asspect, and have limited knowledge of everything else. Boxing seems to be skill there most limited at, learn how to punch and maybe then I will watch.
