MMA Fighters and Why Personality Matters (Or Does It?) By James Ryan This content is protected Human nature dictates that we tend to like people that most remind us of ourselves. Not necessarily in appearance (I know what youre thinking James Ryan and Brad Pitt must be like two peas in a pod). Im referring of course, to personality. I took an on-line quiz once that matched up my management personality with a famous leader in history. Ill let you stew on that one for a minute or two first. This generalization is not set in stone of course, as each human being is different in a variety of ways. Some things however, arent as different as you may think. Assuming that you are not the self-loathing type who possesses incredibly low confidence and self-esteem, then the reality is that you would likely be drawn to a another person based on a human connection. We are drawn to values and personal characteristics that remind us of ourselves and of our own moral beliefs. For example, if you are a huge believer in sportsmanship and honor (notice the use of the u, eh?), then some fighters like Shinya Aoki or Tito Ortiz may be a major turn-off for you, and you would in turn, boo them at any given chance... Ehh, some people just have little to no class, or they,"show" they have none for the cameras.. Others are ****ing weird dudes who would otherwise be homeless crazy guys panhandling "Diego Sanchez?" Ortiz reminds me more of a tough guy with ADD. Someone like Kos, educated and well traveled still has that sort of ugly American thing about him is just a little revolting on the human being level. Matt Hughes was similar, but I tend to think his was more a sort of snobby elitism/mind game thing. Tito, and Kos would probably be the guy to pull some WWE style **** talk during someones wedding.. "Oh did you know I ****ed your soon to be wife back in the day, she loved ass to mouth." Or "Oh, did you know your husband and I used to tag team strippers back in college! We used to get drunk, dp and sometimes our balls would touch one anothers, ewww!" The level of the **** is just sort of beyond me. I really struggle with the fact that there are human beings past the age of 18 that get away with acting the way they do. That people would actually train classless idiots like this in any discipline is just kinda beyond me.. If I were a coach and I listened to someone like a young Tito or Kos open their mouth, I'd kick them out of my gym in a heartbeat. That,or get Tito some Ridlin, and send Kos to some sort of de-douching school.
