http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/article/68897/ EDIT found a link with a vid http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3827583/The-cage-fighters-aged-EIGHT.html
Of course you get the typical tabloid trash angle of outrage shock horror , as if its human pitbull fighting, but it looks pretty good to me They knew what they were doing, going for knee bars and **** It says theyre not allowed to strike til theyre 14 so its grappling and subs only If the sport is to evolve then this is will become the norm ps - that ring card girl could give Arriany a run for her money - winner gets to roll with her, loser gets to roll with Toquinho
They let kids play Rugby at aged 8 in the UK. I dont see that as being less dangerous than a grappling and sub only match
There is no striking and last night they were calling it "Cage Fighting" on Sky News while this absolute nobhead ****, who want's all fighting sports banned and new absolutely **** all, said it was "disgusting" and "barbaric" and called all the adults watching it pedophiles. :rofl atsch I **** you not, he called everyone watching a ****ing Jitz match a pedo. :nut
To be fair they were fighting in a cage. And when watching them fight it did remind me of the scene in South Park where the wrestling coach gets banned lol.
Absolutely BUT I do worry about the set up in the event. This didn't look a properly organised PE or Schools competition. PeeWee grappling or wrestling circuit - great idea! Kids fighting in amateur bout on rinky dink adult events - bad idea.
I agree there, it didnt exactly look like a well organised show. I didnt like the idea of having the 8 year olds on a card with Professionals either But from what I read, they had qualified Refs, trainers and medical staff on hand, or they would not have been licensed for the adult Pro fights. Most Rugby games I was involved in had a bucket and a wet sponge(things may have changed, been about 15 years since I played Rugby in school), so it probably looks worse than it actually is
Its big news over here but its bollocks. Its not cage fighting or mma, its grappling. UK still calls MMA cage fighting. Its really sad. It's a massively skewed article. They keep talking about a kid crying. A kid crys in EVERY sport when they lose or fall over etc I've seen a goalie cry when he let a goal in. I've seen amateur boxers cry. They are young and don't know how to handle their emotions.
Ive been arguing with some girls on facebook about this all morning. Started calling it barbaric before they even understand the rules
That's one of the reason's why I hate BMMA and it's insistence on marketing itself as ''cage fighting'' Ive been arguing with some girls on facebook about this all morning. Started calling it barbaric before they even understand the rules, only because that term was used
That's why I don't use facebook. If I went on and a bunch of no knowing knobheads had a link to the article and were twittering on amongst themselves about how its SO BARBARIC OMG CAGE FIGHTING I'd flip out and tell them I hope they die. ...It's just not on.
Well I sent one of the girls some Marcello Garcia vids and she's totally changed her mind. Wife material there I think
