quote from "Never Back Down 2".

Actually a nice movie, but why on Earth does the mma community always pretend mma was superior to boxing?

    priceless ...

Can someone clarify this for me? Why is it when an MMA guy knocks a guy out cold they immediately jump on the guy and continue to pummel a defenseless dude until the ref stops it?

No, If a fighter gets rocked but can intelligently defend himself the fight can continue. If he is out cold or is not intelligently defending himself then the fight is stopped.

See, Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard II or III, or Pat Barry vs Check Kongo to see why this rule is fine.

I know you were trying to be smart/funny or whatever but I just thought I'd try and educate you on the wonderful sport that is MMA. Not as wonderful as boxing but great nonetheless :good

Even though I also consider myself a fan of MMA, it does cater to the lowest element in our society. I think most people realize this, the fact that it's two guys fighting in a cage kind of gives it away.

No, that was a serious question. That's what it seems like to me, like they wait for the ref to stop it when a downed guy obviously cannot defend himself. I guess it's all subjective, but I've seen guys with their eyes glazed and their hands kinda up but are they really lucid?

I don't understand why MMA fans always have to bring up boxing, we never bring up their sport because we don't care for it, yet they bring boxing up in every discussion they have, maybe they are all closet boxing fans.

Kinda like you, I watch it and familiar with some names. But it really is like combat sports porn. You watch it for the instant gratification.

Most of them don't. I'll put it this way, When I was a member of Sherdog I seen about one or two threads comparing MMA to boxing. I was a member there for about a year.

On ESB I have seen dozens of such threads. It's just you idiots who can't either be a fan of one and respect the other or be a fan of both that annoy me and it's guys like you are comparing them.

    So?

Is that really worse that being rocked getting knocked down and then getting allowed to recover so you can take more damage. Such as in the Donaire-Montiel fight.

I love both in fact I love boxing more but I'm just saying, Some of you guys have a real double standard.

Show me some examples of what you mean, obviously there are bad stppages but its no worse than boxing. It just seems worse sometimes.

And just because a fighter is holding is hands up doesn't mean he's classified as intelligently defending himself. Have you seen those three fights I'm talking about?

I'm sorry mate but I disagree with that, I used to watch MMA casually (still do sometimes) and in almost every MMA video there was always some sort of comparison to boxing such as: how MMA fighting is more realistic and boxer couldn't win in a real fight etc. I am not saying there aren't boxing-MMA comparisons on ESB but it's far less frequent.

This is an outright lie. You don't seem too bad and I apologize for calling you an idiot(i'm sure you know the type) but that is a lie. I don't know what you are watching but I don't think I've ever watched an MMA fight video where the commentators have said anything of the sort.

Of course you can find stupid vlogs where people do but you could also find the opposite. Where its boxing guys talking about MMA.

Elie Seckbach did a video like that after the Brock Lesnar fight :good
