God bless Showtime...they show the card girls, and they actually leave the camera on her for a couple of seconds before she exits the ring...as it should be.

I see this actually as a step BACK for MMA. Sure its on CBS - but the headliner is Kimbo Slice. Slice is pure hype. All he will do with his career is continue to fight washed up MMA fighters, the occasional shot boxer, etc etc. Shamrock's record in the past few years is TERRIBLE. But he may even beat Kimbo.

If this was a top MMA fighter, or even just a GOOD MMA fighter.. fighting decent competition - then I would see this as a big step ahead for MMA, but its just not.

I dunno why all the hate for Kimbo, the guy doesn't pretend to be anything more than he is. I have mad respect to him and glad he made it this big. It's his what 4th pro fight? Give him a break for a little bit. Bunch of guys on TUF have records with 5+ wins and I bet you you've never heard of any of the fighters they faced. Let him fight for little bit and gain some experience before facing more solid competition.
What do you want? For him to face Fedor?

That would be fine if he wasn't headlining.

Its more to due with the fact they market him as the baddest man around, and guess what your TUF theory is mute because most people that don't know much about MMA don't know them, but they know Kimbo. Plus they aren't marketed like he is. Another thing is if Kimbo where fighting nobodies then that would be one thing, he is just fighting old washed-up out of their prime "name" fighters, just to get publicity and make it look good on his record when most real fans see it as the sham it is.

HAHA, You're happy about EliteXC's freakshow card featuring Kimbo Slice and you'd choose that over HBO BAD featuring Angulo, Gamboa, Martinez who are 3 up and coming exciting young fighters.

Boxing does have too many PPV's but you can say the same thing about the UFC. Remember we had to pay for UFC 78 and all those PPV's in England and we were also fed the Ortiz/Shamrock trilogy.

December 6th is not a freakshow fight. Its featuring the P4P best in the world in Manny Pacquiao and hes moving up in weight to fight a guy who gave the former P4P best Mayweather a good fight.

Its not a fight I want to see but it sure as hell beats Couture/Lesnar. I'll reluctantly purchase that PPV as well but we have to be realistic here, Couture/Lesnar is more of a freakshow than Pacquiao/DLH and I honestly dont even think its close.

I just realized this was most likely a sarcastic thread. Boy is my face red.
