boxing is so complex its easy to make ufc fight. they both can learn from another thats for sure.

big fights marinate for no reason , they let it marinate for these casuals to finally come around and wanna see it then the fight gets made. all in all they should just get the fight going for the real fans but then the fight does no generate enough money . where as ufc its just alot easier all fighters in ufc dont have much of a choice who you fight and boxing like i said its just so complex.

Both can learn from each other, but boxing can learn a lot more from mma than the other way around.

Boxing was in such a mess, the UFC, headed by Dana White and co, were able to easily exploit those weakness to their advantage. The UFC became everything boxing should have been and its popularity and profitability is testament to that. Boxing is probably slowly clawing its way back, but UFC gave boxing 200 years start and still managed to become an absolute phenomenon.

The UFC is having its way at the moment but I tell you it won't last and the reason being that purses they pay are pathetic in comparison to boxing.

This pay disparity will lead to other players entering the game and we will see the thin talent they already have spread across different orgs and they will never fight because of org rivalries.

There has already been players like Pride, Strikeforce and Bellator competing but one day they will have an even stronger competitor enter. Think WWF vs WCW in fact thats an apt comparison because they attract the same audience. The rivalry will lead to a dampening of the sport.

Fact MMA isn't the fastest growing sport in the world, it may have been 09-12 era but the sport has plateaued majorly. Rugby Union is the fastest growing sport in the world

UFC is crap because of numerous reasons. Even in its current state boxing is superior in everything.

I was actually into MMA before I got into boxing and I know what I'm talking about. UFC monopoly is the worst possible thing that can happen to the sport.

If you want boxing to be like UFC, would you really like some greedy bald **** like Dana White to run the entire sport or even worse someone like the Fertito brothers who didn't even care about MMA and actually wanted it banned initially before they bought the UFC (and now that they sold it they don't even attend the events anymore)?

It's like giving Don King the absolute control over boxing (over rankings, titles shots, division weight limits, salaries and everything) and all the elite fighters.

Pride version of MMA was thousand times better. JMMA >>>> UFC. Fedor, Cro Cop, Nog, Sakuraba, Igor are the real MMA (it shouldn't even be called like this, it's vale tudo or NHB) legendary FIGHTERS not those human cockfighting cage entertainers.

Rhonda wasn't mentally ready for the level of fighter that Nunes is. She needed at least two tune ups. That was a brutal defeat by Holms and Rhona needed to work on her boxing defense and that defense needed to be tested. It was a bad move and it cost the MMA a star and money maker. MMA can't teach boxing nothing. Boxing has been where MMA is at and knows better. Boxing needs to come back to the middle ground and MMA needs to find it's middle ground.

It was a cash grab. Dana White was surprisingly happy after the fight, he probably knew it would end up like this but just wanted to collect that final payday from Ronda hype.

mma is getting better and boxing is getting worse. the new generation of fighters in mma is more well rounded, better trained, and better conditioned than previous generations. boxing is the opposite, they want better pay for poorer quality work than fighters before them.
i prefer boxing, but i see a brighter future for mma. as their level of talent increases and the fighters start to become part of pop culture, like carano, rousey, mcgregor, etc... have done, the events will become bigger.
there's a bit of irony somewhere in the fact that, mike tysons involvement in the promotion of the sport, brings a great deal of legitimacy to the level of perceived quality of the fighters involved.

The UFC is like a medieval king who collects 95% of the money and gives a pittance to the fighters who ruin their health for a sandwich . It doesn't pay fighters by skill but by flavour of the moment hype , it is virtually a circus show rather than an organization run professionally to build the sport properly . Always goes for the quick buck rather than promote the sport in a credible manner .

Professional boxing has been around for over 100 years , where it took many years to bring it any respectability to it being a legitimate sport . The proper training of young amateur boxers to build the sport , the widely accepted rules and accreditation of ... ahem ... fair judging . The UFC is by comparison still a puppy run by business men who see it as a commodity rather than an institution .

MMA has no talent, 99% of fighters are either from USA or Brazil. Those white Americans in MMA wouldn't be anything more than club fighters in boxing, there's a reason why you only see a handful of white Americans in elite boxing yet in MMA they dominate. Kelly Pavlik would be a god in MMA he would murk them all if he had basic high school wrestling (which is the athletic background of the majority of the UFC) and then Joe Rogan would be yelling that he is the once ever athlete and the Michael Jordan of combat sports.

MMA fighters are part of the mainstream culture in USA because they're white and American (or at least adapt to American culture like Coner).

MMA compared to boxing is like comparing a fringe American obscurity like NASCAR to a prestigious marquee sport Formula One.

Boxing is the Formula One of combat sports. Lomachenko = Max Verstappen, he is the savior of the sport.

Boxing needs to learn nothing from that utter garbage. I saw that "fight" before, both looked like they'd never fought before - woeful standard.

what a ridiculous thing to say. kelly should just go over to mma and stomp those talentless bums, like mcgregor, who already has twice the career earnings that kelly ever had.

mma is still in its infancy, its still making huge jumps in technique with each new dominant fighter that emerges, like when the gracies forced it to evolve. but they are still the best in the world in a cage, and if you think a boxer is just going to walk in and clean out a division, then you must be high.
