Jon Jones is great. UFC doesn't pay their fighters enough. Boxing is lacking in flash while MMA is lacking in substance. Dana White is a ******.

    /thread.

Boxing definitely has the more technically skilled fighters, usually even the most pedestrian of full time boxers have threefold the footwork of MMA fighters considered the best in the sport, which would include GSP, Bones, etc. Maybe Anderson Silva being the lone exception. The cross-training in MMA has made the field full of fighters proficient at all their main areas of fighting, but not great in any one particular area. Which basically imo makes the sport of MMA as a whole a slight step above tough-man contests, given that they actually do train for their fights.

Basically boxing is and always will be better.:deal

What was Floyd making at 23?

Floyd fought Gregorio Vargas and Emmanuel Augustus as the Super Featherweight Champ the year he was 23.

Jon Jones has fought Rua, Machida, Jackson and Evans in the last year - All current or former champs.

I know which fights I'd rather watch out of those particular choices...

I bet when Jones is 35 he still won't make that much. Dumb point

  7. me too man! I agree and I can see where you're coming from! In a fight on the streets, you gotta end things quick. The hands have to do the business 99% of the time.

As A Muay Thai purist who doesn't watch MMA only Muay Thai and western boxing I agree with the 1st paragraph. MMA guys tend to be jacks of all trades but masters of none. However, I believe this will change overtime as the sport develops, it's still in its infancy compared to Muay Thai and western boxing.

The point is that the pay scales for the UFC fighters are different.

And at 23 - Jones is a relativley new commodity.

What is the point of comparing what Floyd earns in a weekend of betting on his current PPV value against a 23 year old kid who has less than 15 fights?

There's a whole number of dumb points.

Me hate on boxing? I ALMOST love boxing as much as *****! You have to be joking.. You have twisted things around, you're the one hating on MMA.. I just said MMA is closer to an actual street fight than Boxing. So if an MMA fighter and a boxer got in a street fight, I'd have to favor the MMA guy. If the skill level is close.. I just tell the truth..

I don't understand why people are making jokes about 400K!? Do any of you make that much a year? Add the Sponsor money and PPV $$$.. Im sure Jones and other UFC stars take home 1 or 2 Million per fight.. Another thing, why do you guys even care how much a fighter makes? I don't understand that at all... I just care about what the fighter does in the ring or octagon and what kind of action they bring! But hey that's just me..

I agree 400K is a bundle of dough no matter who you are.

Just think tip top Thai Muay Thai fighters and Champs who have had over 200 pro fights going back to ages like 9 (just as skilled any boxer at their game) think 200,000 baht (Aprox $6,500) is a good payday!:shock::shock:

So are you expecting someone to be making Mayweather money for main eventing a PPV that will probably draw around 300-400k Buy rates and did $2M at the gates ?. You know the guy who helped generate near 2.5M buys and $18-19M at the gates. **** me there are some proper mongs on this site.
