My point is that MMA fighters for the most part don't have the ego the multi-million dollar athletes have, nor do they feel like they deserve millions for a nights work or kicking a ball around a feel for example, and Zuffa and MMA on a whole's business is a lot more different than other combat sports. It doesn't rely on two guys in the main event and that's it, they're paying a full card of talent and the main guys are usually well known enough to be getting a fair amount. Also not to mention it's not like that's all they get, they also get sponsor money and whatnot, so its not like they're fighting on a pittance, and even if they were there's very few people complaining about it other than apparently, boxing fans.

I think that's fair. Maybe I'm getting too into the whole "they're getting less money so they're acting less ****y" though I do believe that helps keep someone's ego in check, you're right about the whole background and education thing, can't blame it all on money. But I do believe MMA just works differently and they're getting paid fine.

High demands? As if they have a choice. They have to bent over and get ****ed by Dana White, big time. He must be making a ridiculous profit margin, seeing how his fighters literally make more than 10x less than a boxer of comparable fame.

The real complaint here is that these fighters are getting screwed - not that one hero or sport is better than another

I would rather a fighter be paid a ton and be a **** than the promoter being handed 95% of the money because fighters are paid 'too much' for one night.

 

MMA is gay thats probably why they dont get paid much.

 

We should also take into consideration how old the sport of boxing is compare to MMA. Boxing as a sport paid it's dues to have there fighters clock in the figures that they do. Despite all the trash talking between the two on which sport is better. Boxing as a sport will beat MMA any day of the week depending on who's on the fight cards.

Their PPV headliners are getting paid $300K, so yes, I can say they don't get paid **** even compared to PPV undercard boxers. Yeah, only a small percentage ever make it onto PPV, but the ceiling is way higher in boxing.

 

MMA is generating as much revenue as most ppv boxing cards, most of the money goes to the UFC though, and their fighters won't question them taking a large percentage of the revenue for their spilled blood.

And those who do question, are cut from the UFC and talked down to by Dana White.

But my point is, the bums in UFC are treated with more respect and financial benefit than the bums in boxing, and I don't think that point can be argued.

MMA is most certainly not more dangerous than boxing. Yes, you have a much higher chance of sustaining a broken arm or leg, but as far as I know there have only been two MMA related fatalities. Literally thousands of boxers have died due to injuries sustained in the ring.

 

8,000 is what a sparring partner gets paid for one month's work, that's what Che Mills got for his undercard main event fight. I don't think a hobo would fight for that amount if he had to train for more than a week.
