Reminded me of the lopes silva KO 2 weeks back, although that fight was very competitive at that point.

Insane KO being behind and the free punch while he was basically out on the floor made me cringe!

Kinda funny how 205 is a **** division in seemingly every MMA promotions. PFL has two 36 year olds going at it, while the UFC´s biggest star is some 15 fight, 38 year old kick-boxer.

What a fall from grace, this division used to have Jon Jones, DC, Rumble Johnson, Phil Davis, Alexander Gustafsson, Glover etc at the same time.

Lol, I missed all of that as I got into the sport in roughly 2016 or so. I got Jones´ second reign. Granted, it started off interesting for me due to his activity and dominance, but it turned into a proper shitshow. And then the rest of the division started playing hot-potato with it until Pereira moved up.

50-45 is atrocious. I had it 48-47 Hughes, but 48-47 the other way was fine.

I was a bit tipsy and tired, but I thought Nurmagamedov clearly won it.

I was also tipsy and rooting for Hughes. The rounds nurmagomedov were convincing which were 1 and 4.

I had 2,3,5 for Hughes but that might be my bias kicking in, so I’d need to rewatch it if I was that bothered. 50-45 just left a sour taste.

Pretty high level fight for the PFL though, could see both of them pushing the top 10 in the UFC

In fairness, due to how few rounds there are in MMA fights, a single round can flip the fight and this was a close one. I personally thought that Nurmagamedov did enough to win, but I your scorecard makes sense.

In the end Hughes never stood a chance there. Taking fights against Muslims in Saudi is just dumb, you will never get a fair shake.

I think Merabs two fights away from tying Anderson Silvas unbeaten streak.

That would be 6 title fight wins vs 11. Its going to be a long ass while before someone has 10 consecutive title defenses again, and Merab wont be the one to do it - hes too old.

But Merab is on a crazy run tho.
