Absolutely insane card. I think Khamzat shows he's back and ready for a title shot after a rough couple years.
Look. Dana addressed the Aspinall Vs Jones issue about a month ago in a press conference. Had he said what he said from the start rather than riding stipe and Jones nuts for the last 8 months then all would be fine. You’ve got two legends of the sport scheduled to fight. It’s a last hurrah or meant to be for both and one gets injured. Does Dana really turn round and say, you know what you’ve done so much for this company and we’ve scheduled in to face Jones, but sorry, go **** yourself? That’s not on, but it should be clear that fighting once in 4 years and another fighter that hasn’t fought for 4 years should not be fighting for the title. Drop the belt and let them have their legacy match. If Jon Jones wants that belt he should have to go through Aspinall first.
Belal, Dricus, Merab were all pretty 50/50 fights in the build up, I’m not trying to sound like an expert, but I don’t see any of them as upsets, well big upsets at least. Maybe Belal & Merab were because they looked so one sided, but even then 48-47 were the right scores, even though they were comprehensive victories. The only big upset I can think of as of late was Pav Vs Volkov and that was 3 months ago. Even looking at that fight a lot of my friends were picking Volkov due to his wider skill set, them being training partners and Pav probably losing a bit of confidence after getting flattened by Aspinal
Same here, I picked Belal and Dricus, Merab was the only one I was not confident in. I'm going to count Khamzat against Rob in that group as I see so many people writing him off, even with his massive casual fanbase.
There is a lot of current ufc champs who I don't think will be champs for long. Merab, Belal, Pennington, DDP, Jon Jones. I wouldn't bet money on any of these champs being the champion is 12 mths time.
I mean´t upsets as in whom the bookies had as favorites. UFC 300 had 3 upsets. 301 had 2. 302 had 1. 303 had 2. So as you can see, not a lot of upsets when looking at the odds provided by bookies. Things got a lot more fun with UFC 304: 6 upsets. 305 had 5 and 306 had 4. I imagine UFC 307 will continue this trend with at least 3 upsets because a lot of the fights are super competitive.
Aspinal is the top heavy now, Stipe has done nothing, in his last fight he got sparked, he`s 41! Jones has to face the top guy if he`s the champ, he`s holding back Aspinall`s career, Stipe is nowhere near Aspinall`s level right now, the guy`s a monster.
Boys boys boys!!!!!! The next 3 PPVs are bloody well stacked, 308, 309 & 310!!! Belal Vs Shavkat confirmed to headline UFC 310, we already have Pantone Vs Asakura in the co main and Gane Vs Volkov in the featured fight. Sterling Vs Evloev as well?!?!? & Reyes Vs Anthony Smith? WTF?!? We also have a decent looking fight night with Yan Vs Figueiredo headlining and Carlos Ulberg vs Oezdemir on the same card! After some very lackluster cards this year it looks like we’re going to be closing the year with a bang! The fact UFC 309 might be the weakest of all 3 cards is INSANE
The fight was arranged before Aspinall was even relevant. Jones isn't in the wrong here, Brits just have about as much patience as a 6 year old.
What's the prediction for the Ngannou fight? I don't have one as I know nothing about his opponent except a few vids I watched recently.
Brits? 90% of MMA fans want to see Aspinal v Jones, Stipe is in his 40`s and hasn`t fought for4-5 years since getting sparked by Ngannou.
The guy he`s fighting is 6`8 and has a huge reach, Ngannou will be in great danger of getting caught by his long straight right, he fights like an MMA version of Wilder.
