MMA. The way boxing should be.

Screw the MMA business model!
Two guys train their asses of, put their health on the line, and the owner of UFC DICTATES to them how much they can make! All the while he keeps all the revenue.
At least in boxing, the fighter has control, and a say in what he takes home.

 

The UFC puts on good solid PPV's. Why do you think they are killing boxing in PPV numbers? It's not just one main event with a crap undercard like most boxing cards. There are usually three or four fights you're lookin forward to on a UFC PPV. There are competitive undercard fights, not just some contender vs pretender like most boxing undercards. In between fights, they even show the unaired fights. When have we ever got that with boxing PPV's? The UFC gives their fans their money's worth, while boxing promoters continue ripping us off with crap like Cotto vs Jennings and Pavlik vs Rubio on PPV atsch

UFC is horrible but the cheap tickets make it accessible.Who is going to curb the purses of boxers?? when they become big draws they can make those sort of demands

 

I work in a gym and I can attest to this. Though a lot of the guys are cool.. they look silly.

 

look people boxing is global, there is no way this could work in boxing, there are TV companies in japan,England,germany,USA putting millions into the sport. there are multi million dollar fights in these countries and different TV companies putting up the money and alot of different promoters with an interest, MMA is not this and these guys in UFC have no where else to go for any kind of respectable money. The public will get the **** with this and PPV will drop in the next couple of years because like boxing now you can't fool the fans with match up and the sport needs to start to improve because now most of the fights like a pub brawl at best or a hug fest, if they won't to break away from young white kid market that just won't to see somebodies clock cleaned and doesn't care who does it.

 

MMA is only really popular in the USA, Boxing still rules supreme in Europe and is tied in Asia for real martial arts

 

Emo music is also very popular and out sells much better quality music in many areas....that doesn't mean it is setting an example for others to follow. Trends are trends, plain and simple.

so you're saying that the fighters should be getting ass****ed by the promoters in boxing, just like they are doing in the MMA?

mma is only like that cause they pay there fighters **** chicken feed.

the average world class boxer earns atleast 2.5 - 3 million for a fight

the elite mma fighters dont get near as much

 

Understandable, but contrast the number of PPV's that boxing had vs. the number of PPV's that UFC had throughout the year.

Not only that, but wait until the fighters in UFC start demanding more money.

Wait until Affliction grows bigger and stars are hopping back and forth.

UFC is still in its novelty period, and the problems will continue to mount for MMA just as it has for boxing.

On the Fedor situation who in the UFC does he need to fight. His beaten everyone there is and has nothing to prove.
