Cant see Affliction getting that big. I think they will lose money on there next show and will be lucky to get 100,000 PPV buys. The chances of other MMA promotions getting big are slim. MMA is not a sport in the US. UFC or 'ultimate fighting' is a sport.
It was quite the laugh when Dana White started mouthing off about Golden Boy. While it is true that boxing promoters screw the fighters on the undercard, UFC screws everybody.
Wait, wait.. wait. You want pretty much 99% of boxing to be on PPV? **** THAT. I'll take my free weekly and during summer twice weekly ESPN telecasts plus my 1-3 HBO/Showtime free tickets per month with the added Versus card thrown in for good measure. **** the UFC, and **** that business model that ****s good fighters and throws them out when they aren't seen as sellers anymore. UFC is only a few steps up from WWE.
i completely disagree. these events are generating millions and the promoters keep it all while iin boxing the split favours the athletes which is how it should be.
In Dana White and Zuffa's pocket. How on earth can you compare a FRANCHISE within a sport that does what is best for its organisation vs a Sport as an entity? Thats absolute nonsense and some purist childish logic.
Bingo. Fact is boxing looks after its fighters. The UFC just looks after its stars. The mid and low end carders are fodder and some take home a paltry $4000 for a fight. Journeymen in boxing dont turn up for that.
