Not only that there is no job security in the UFC no matter how good you are unless you are when of their "rockstars". Guys like Werdum,Fitch,Trigg years back,Lindland years back get released for no damn good reason even though they are top 5.

This is the thing that pisses me off about the UFC. Guys are turning tricks just to get ****ing paid and its not right. Everyone needs to work together if they want to make bread. Thats an unwritten rule in boxing.
The UFC doesnt do that. It does whats best for itself and itself only. I mean how can you let guys like Werdum,Trigg and Lindland off? Even Herring got released after loosing one bout. These guys are fighters first but they MUST make money to pay their bills and the UFC doesnt give them an opportunity to do that.

There no diffrent to Don King running his own racket to line his OWN pocket. Guys seem to forget there a promotion first. Promotion being the OPERATIVE word. Promoters do whats best for themselves point blank point simple!

Another thing that is bull is the UFCs little non compete clause. So when guys like Couture or Ortiz dont like how Dana treats them they are basically ****ed either way because they arent allowed to fight in any other promotions. So therefore you got guys who arent even allowed to do what they love to do and make a living off it. **** I know Liddell should retire but if he wants to fight why shouldnt he ? Danas probablly going to turn his back on him to and hold him to that final fight left on his contract but at the same time not allow him to fight for the UFC so hes basically in control of Liddells future which is bull****.

They learnt that trick from the WWE. The WWE own all the rights to there wrestlers. They cant even use there name and have to sign a bunch of waivers. Lesnar had this same problem after he left the WWE and went to NJPW. The result being they cant even make a living elsewhere. As far as im concerned thats completely unethical and most of all unfair. Any boxer providing fit and licensed can fight where he likes and when he wants. Not when you sign for the UFC..

Liddells got a fight left on his contract. Im pretty sure Dictator Dana will freeze him out.

These boxing/MMA comparisons are extremely silly. The UFC is a promotion which isn't representative of the sport of MMA in its entirety. Anyone who is calling for a turn to "the UFC model" for boxing is essentially demanding that one of the major fight promotion companies becomes dominant, exercises a virtual monopoly over TV broadcasting and starts marketing its brand name at all costs over the fighters and even the sport itself. Can you imagine if DKP, Top Rank, or GBP had their own world titles in each weight class, refused to ever cross promote a card, went out of their way to ignore fights that took place in unaffiliated promotions and we saw Don King, Bob Arum or Oscar De La Hoya masquerading as THE face of boxing in every television spot, print article or interview regarding the sport? People would go ape****.

The success of the UFC aside, the structure of MMA as a sport is actually just as if not more ridiculous than that of boxing. I foresee serious problems down the road if and when a promoter can challenge the UFC.

I'm a huge fan of both sports, but like I said before, the comparisons without taking into account the actual facts are absurd.

All it takes is a backer with plenty of cash and fighters will defect.

Dont worry they will. As soon as the cash start rolling in you can bet your life fighers WILL defect. Thats the nature of economics non fere. Of course the UFC has all the big guns because there essentially the only Org that matters now.

Plus the fighters have to wait until there current contracts are up. :deal They can't just up and leave. Plus they have to be smart about it or else they might get their careers froze by Ego and his cronies.

I have to say this is quite disgusting. What the hell are people buying these stupid zuffa events for?

MMA is not the way it should be. It should be more like the Bellator event. So should boxing.

Remember folks, popular stuff can be bad. Titanic was the most profitable film of all time. Did you like it?

I agree with jimmie and scur. Loads of guys are let off because they are obviously not deemed profitable. In boxing you don't get that. Guys can still fight but these are sometimes the guys who make **** fights. The UFC picks who they want.

Imagine if Arum could almost monopolise boxing and pick all the good fighters and shaft the rest. Obviously every bill would be PPV and boxing would be huge.

In the UFC which is the face of MMA, there is no place for real journeymen or even low ranked contenders.

Even someone like Cro Cop had to go away, rebuild and come back again for another chance.

Someone like Cro in boxing would have no problem to keep fighting no matter what. Look at someone like Rahman for example. At least Cro turns up in shape and not just a payday.
