DiBella is another guy in boxing to make money and who hates MMA without having any real knowledge of it. Much like Bob Arum.
He has such a conceited smarmy attitude. Bas Rutten had a thing or two to say about Bob Arum. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-4R5UR_qeM[/ame]
Dibella isn't the nicest or humblest guy around in boxing, but Rogan was being a condescending ***** in that video. Talking about how he's a fan of boxing, then turns around and says it's sure to die and it's silly to settle a fight with your hands only and so the premise of the sport is simply stupid. They're two different sports, one more varied, the other more specialized form of combat, which may make for more interesting cross-overs in the future but other than that are separate enough historically and technically to coexist.
yea...I noticed that when I first saw. For one its funny, because they are both combat sports that have limitations...i mean. Jack Dempsey once said boxing wasnt fighting because you have rounds, gloves, and ref...well that holds true of mma as well. But finally...the whole idea about "two guys settingling something" is ****ing stupid. Mike Tyson was never the "baddest man on the planet" Fedor never was...Brock never was isnt now and never will be. The baddest man on the planet is some cold blooded mother ****er who will kill you in your sleep then kill all your family...then take your dog..make your dog love him..then kill him....it aint a practincer of any combat sport...so shut the **** up Rogen you pot head wanna be fighter wanna be funny man...but debella is a **** sucker as well.
It took Dumbella like ten seconds before he played the race card. Where I train most of the interest in MMA and grappling is from Brown kids.
I do think you will see more darker skinned americans in mma soon..having said that...a percentage of white young male fans of mma do have a certain something about them that does at times seem like they love to route for the white dude.
rogan says some stupid **** "its kind of a silly agreement say we hate eachother we are gonna duke it out but lets just use are hands" "what boxing is one aspect of mixed martial arts" "the famous people you have right now are the only famous people who will exist in the future of boxing....there will be no new ones, they will all go to mma" he then contadicts himself with saying he is a boxing fan then when brian kenny says boxing is more aesthetically pleasing he responds "it's not aesthetically pleasing to me" joe rogan can be funny at times but basically is a douchebag.
the truest point is that UFC can promote MMA as a whole because they dominate the landscape of MMA by miles and miles. Boxing promoters cannot invest in promoting boxing as a whole because they would be investing in something that benefits their competitors. The UFC doesn't really have serious competitors Rogan is right that MMA is the sport of fighting. Boxing is boxing. Its a sport that involves fighting with your hands. Its not a limited sport. Its limited from the "fighting" aspect but not from the "sport" aspect. In terms of being a sport, MMA is more limited than boxing.
yeah..and about the aesthetically pleasing stuff..maybe one does like mma more..but anyone who actually likes pure grappling more then boxing is either real grappling freak or a total homo...i mean..who the **** wants to watch wrestling.i know its tough..i know those guys can **** you up..i know all that..but its ****ing boring.
I know that you're talking about wrestling. But that's just one aspect of MMA. Some of the most exciting and brutal knockouts that I've ever seen have come from head kicks, knees and body slams. People become hyper-focused on the wrestling and forget these other aspects.
yea some cool stuff their...i will always like boxing a bit more.. but really..they do stuff now...like stand up guys if they are in a clinch on the ground..that makes it funner for the fans..but hurts a BJJ guy...like the way gracie fought back in the day..also it makes it less of a "real fight" which is what mma tries to present itself ass. i mean...your standing guys up.....
also when joe rogan said " their are so many aspects of boxing that are really infective - dont really work in a real fight the bobbing and weaving shoulder-rolling" this has also been proven to be false.:deal
